And Scarlett Johansson was bringing every ounce of her retro charm to New York City on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old actress wore her hair in a 1940s vintage style wave, bright red lipstick and a belted camel coat over a vivid blue dress at the David Letterman studios.

For a the final touch, the Don Jon star sported a pair of large black Karen Walker cat-eye sunglasses and bedazzled peep-toe stilettos although left the studios without her sunglasses smiling and laughing.

And despite the chilly Manhattan temperatures, Scarlett revealed a glimpse of toned bare legs as she strutted into the studio in her high-slit number.

The actress recently voiced a computer operating system named Samantha in Spike Jonze movie Her.

The film explores how a depressed man Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) falls in love with the operating system in the film which co-stars Amy Adams and Olivia Wilde.

The in-demand star was also in Paris earlier this year filming director Luc Besson film Lucy with co-star Morgan Freeman.

In the film plays a woman forced to carry drugs for a dealer who develops strange powers when some of the illegal substance leaks into her system.

The film is due for release on August 8 in the US and August 22 in the UK.

And Scarlett will reprise her role as the Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier with Chris Evans, due out March 28 in the UK and April 4 in the US, and in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, set for a 2015 release.

Aside from her acting career, the star has been tending to her French fiance Romain Dauriac.
