He’s been spending time in London ahead of filming his upcoming project, Dr. Dolittle.

And Robert Downey Jnr. blended in with the crowds when he stepped out in the city on Monday afternoon, looking a little different than fans are used to seeing him.

The 52-year-old action star was a far cry from his buff Iron Man self, sporting a flat cap in a bid to go incognito.

Robert wore a tight red T-shirt that offered a glimpse at his muscular physique, wrapping up warm with a cardigan.

He kept a low profile as he left a restaurant with a group of friends, hiding behind a pair of sunglasses.

Filming for Dr. Dolittle is scheduled to begin in February, so the Hollywood star’s new look was no doubt in aid of his latest role.

His outing comes amid news that Selena Gomez will lend her voice to the forthcoming Dr. Dolittle movie.

Selena is set to portray one of the animals in the new film, titled The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film will be released on April 19 next year and will see Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen have live action human parts, while animal voice roles are going to Emma Thompson, Ralph Fiennes and Tom Holland.

Variety reported last March that Downey will be headlining the motion picture.

The film is a new take on the classic children’s favorite and will be co-produced by the actor’s wife Susan Downey for Universal Pictures.

Little is known about the exact nature of the plot but it will be directed by Stephen Gaghan from his own screenplay.

The character of Doctor Dolittle was created by author Hugh Lofting who wrote stories about him in letters home to his children while serving in the British army during the First World War.

In 1920, he published the first book in a series about the country doctor in early Victorian England who decides to treat animals instead of people after realizing he can communicate with them.

In 1967, Rex Harrison starred as the character on film in the beloved musical Doctor Dolittle which was shot on location in an English village in the Cotswolds.

The movie garnered two Oscars – one for best visual effects and one for best original song for Talk To The Animals.

In 1998, Eddie Murphy revived the character in the modern day in a big screen family comedy and starred in a sequel in 2001. Together the movies grossed $470 million worldwide.

Downey is one of the most popular actors working in Hollywood and one of the biggest box office draws which makes him a natural for the role.

Before Doctor Dolittle, he will be seen on screen again as Iron Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming slated top open in July.
