Ever since X-Men was released in 2000, it has been impossible to imagine anyone else as Wolverine in Hugh Jackman’s place. But, have you ever wondered what Henry Cavill would have looked like as the beloved mutant, chopping enemies left and right with Wolverine’s claws? Thanks to epic fanart, fans of Wolverine got to take a look at Henry Cavill as Wolverine in place of Hugh Jackman. While the idea of Henry Cavill playing Wolverine a.k.a. Logan has received mixed reactions from the fans of the superhero world, you cannot deny that the fanart makes the actor look like he would do a great job in the role, keeping his height aside.

One of the best things about the Internet is that it helps people bring their imaginations to life. You can pretty much find or create anything with a touch of a few buttons! Now, this comes really handy when fans want to reimagine their favorite characters as their favorite actors, including imagining Henry Cavill as Wolverine, just like in a fanart recently uploaded on X.

Taking a still from Man of Steel, the fan-edited Cavill’s photo and gave him Wolverine’s claws, completely changing the character from Clark Kent to Logan. As an added bonus, the rugged look sported by Cavill in the scene also helps him appear more Wolverine-like.

Clearly, the idea has received mixed reviews from fans. While some believe that the actor would make a great Wolverine, others are of the opinion that Cavill is a bit too tall to play Logan. For context, the Enola Holmes actor is over 6 feet tall, whereas Logan’s height in the comic books is only 5’3”. And since Hugh Jackman is 6’3”, some fans are hoping to see a more comic-accurate, should the character ever get recast.

Cavill is always going to be fan-casted in many comic book roles, but have you ever stopped to wonder which character the actor himself would want to play? Well, according to Cavill, if he ever had the chance to bring a Marvel comics character to life, he would love to play Captain Britain, the protector of Earth-616.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter back in 2021, Cavill stated,

“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else…Because everyone’s doing such an amazing job. However, I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”
