There is a divide right now at Stamford Bridge over what is the best course of action to be taken with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The manager saw reports of pressure being firmly on his shoulders off the back of the heartbreaking defeat at Wembley to Liverpool in the EFL Cup final.
It was even claimed that some had begun to do due dilligance on a number of other candidates to potentially replace Pochettino in the coming weeks or months.

A win this week against a rotated Leeds United side has done little to convince the doubters that he is the man for the job, even if it was in dramatic circumstances.
The Chelsea Chronicle spoke to HITC insider Graeme Bailey to see what exactly people at the club were thinking right now.
Chelsea board disagreeing over Pochettino
He said: “There’s even a divide in the hierarchy, which I think is of the club’s own making. Two co-sporting directors, two co-owners, Joe Shields in recruitment, Sam Jewell coming in. It’s a really complicated situation. I think we will see a marginalization of some characters in the club and I think we will see changes in the long-term and the short-term.
“With so many cooks in the kitchen there’s going to be disagreements there, and it is my understanding that some want to stick with Pochettino, even offer him a new contract in the summer, where as some want a new manager. It really is going to the highest level and splitting the camp.
“The situation Pochettino has been given, perhaps they have underachieved, but it is just one or two signings away from being very good.
Bailey also hinted that the transfer situation is a big indicator that there is not a universal backing from the staff in Pochettino.
He said: “We can see that he doesn’t have a hand in the transfers with the Conor Gallagher situation, which just sums up the club at the moment. At this point, we really don’t know if he’s going to be in charge at the start of the season.”
It is hard not to make comparisons to Graham Potter’s time at the club last season, with him being relieved of his duties after a similar amount of games.
However, the even further depths they slipped to following his dismissal is perhaps a sign that patience could be the key for now.
It seems like at this point it would make more sense to see out the rest of the season, and make a move for a new manager then when they know exactly where they stand.
Ruben Amorim has been mentioned as a candidate that the club are big fans of, however they will likely face competition for him from other top sides such as Liverpool.
