Mauricio Pochettino has now confirmed one player is going to be back in the Chelsea squad for their match against Leicester City on Sunday.
He said in his pre-match press conference that Ben Chilwell was going to return to the first team squad for the FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge.
Chilwell was nowhere to be seen during Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Newcastle on Monday, with it being Marc Cucurella making his first start of 2024 at left-back.

The Spaniard put in a strong performance, however did show signs of falling into old habits as far as diving into tackles is concerned.
There was originally some fear that Chilwell would be out for a prolonged period of time, after it was stated that he was needing to see a specialist regarding his newest issue.
However, he was yesterday named in the upcoming England squad, with it the final chance for players to make their case to international managers before the Euros.

Pochettino has stated that the vice-captain would be back in action this weekened.
He said: “Yes already Gareth [Southgate] told you he’s fit. Back to training. I think everything going well. He will be in the squad for Sunday.”
It remains to be seen whether this results in a start for the Englishman, with Pochettino having to now manage the return to full fitness of two players in the same position.
He cannot even call upon Levi Colwill to play that role right now, with the youngster suffering from an injury that saw him ruled out of selection for the national team.
