Scarlett Johansson debuts in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, wearing Elizabeth Taylor’s negligee.

She’s undoubtedly the one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, and as she took to her position centrestage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York she had the audience in awe.

Portraying the role of Maggie Pollitt in the classic show Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Scarlett Johansson smouldered as she stripped to her negligee on Thursday evening.

In scenes which were reminiscent of when the late Elizabeth Taylor took on the role for the classic film adaption in 1958, the 28-year-old commanded the audiences attention as she put her all in the dream role.

Showing off her flamed coloured locks, Scarlett wore a pale yellow pleated mid-length dress, pearl choker, and a slick of pink lipstick.

Making sure the focus was all on her, Johansson seductively glided about the stage in a silk peach nightgown trimmed with lace as she said her lines.

Johansson’s return to Broadway as frustrated đť‘ eđť‘Ąpot Maggie in Tennessee Williams play was immortalized in a sultry black-and-white poster.

In the moody image, which could easily double as a perfume advert, the movie star is seen reclining with lips parted as her fingers loosen the plunging neckline of her đť‘ eđť‘Ąy white slip.

But the four-time Golden Globe nominee, who’s revival is currently in previews, doesn’t consider her overtly đť‘ eđť‘Ąy.

‘I think her đť‘ eđť‘Ąuality is often overplayed and over-appreciated. It’s such an unimportant part of this story,’ the curvy actress recently told the Huffington Post.

The Tennessee Williams’ drama, which officially opens at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on January 17, also stars Benjamin Walker, Ciarán Hinds, and Debra Monk.

Last Tuesday, Scarlett was seen signing autographs outside the theater while clad in a black hat.

The last time she was onstage, Johansson played a very different sort of role – a virginal teenager named Catherine in the Arthur Miller drama.

‘I never thought I would do another play after View,’ the Match Point starlet told the New York Times. ‘I was just so tired. I thought I was just going to become an organic farmer.’

However after her divorce from Ryan Reynolds, the blonde vamp is more interested in playing full grown adults.

‘I felt extreme vulnerability over the last few years, more than I ever had, and no longer wanted to keep rushing into movie jobs or a play just to escape how I was feeling,’ she said.

‘Once I wanted to work again, I wanted to start playing adults — tough women who knew what it took to survive.’

She’ll soon join Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt in his directorial debut feature Don Jon’s Addiction, a comedy about a porn-addicted ladies man who learns to be less selfish.
