The King was T’d up in the win over Houston on Saturday.
On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers picked up a big win over the Houston Rockets, but it didn’t come without any controversy. Lakers star LeBron James got into a verbal interaction with Houston head coach Ime Udoka, and both men received technical fouls.
Udoka was ejected from the game since it was his second technical foul. The game went on, and the Lakers cruised to another win.
James has picked up two technical fouls so far this season, surpassing the total from a year ago already. When asked about it, he said “It’s a wild season”.
It seems like the NBA refs have much less patience about anything this year, and they are handing out technical fouls much more often. James has been a victim to some, but the hope is that this was the last of it for a while.
The Lakers win was sparked by a second-quarter run, namely by the bench unit. Guard Austin Reaves scored 15 of his 18 points in the second, helping give LA a big halftime lead.
“I was happy I was able to bring it home, that’s for sure,” said James, who finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. “The fans got into it. The crowd got into it and our bench got into it. Got us a technical, but we’ll take it. We’ll take that one.”

LA never looked back after that quarter, despite things getting a little chippy down the stretch of the game. But they held on for an impressive win at home, and now sit at 12-9 in the new season.
Hopefully, when the Lakers take the floor on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns, James doesn’t get another technical. He needs to be more careful not to continue upping his total, and the Lakers need him on the floor.
