Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes might be keeping receipts amid Kansas City’s struggles.
The reigning NFL MVP appeared to like a post on X that said the Broncos “broke” him after Denver’s 24-9 win over the Chiefs on Oct. 29, according to USA Today, which took a screenshot of the 28-year-old’s since-deleted social media activity.
Mahomes’ likes on X do not show that post as of Wednesday.
The post in question quoted part of an opinion headline from The Denver Post, which read: “Broncos DC Vance Joseph didn’t just beat Patrick Mahomes. He didn’t just beat the Chiefs. He broke them.”
The outlet published the column after the Broncos outplayed the Chiefs at Empower Field to end their 16-game losing streak to Kansas City.
Before that, the Chiefs hadn’t lost a game to the Broncos since Week 2 of the 2015 season.
It was the third-longest win streak against one opponent in NFL history, according to ESPN.
Mahomes, who experienced flu-like symptoms during the week of the game, had a 59.2 passer rating, tossed two interceptions and was sacked three times.
The Chiefs were plagued by turnovers and went 0-for-3 in the red zone.

Joseph was hailed a hero by the Denver locker room after they rallied past the reigning champion Chiefs in Week 8.
It came nearly a month after the Dolphins beat the Broncos, 70-20, and Joseph’s job security seemed bleak.

Now, the Broncos (7-6) sit in second place in the AFC West, just one game behind the Chiefs (8-5).
Kansas City has struggled since that loss with four losses in its last six games, including Sunday’s home loss to the Bills, and Mahomes’ offense doesn’t appear to be Super Bowl-caliber.

The two-time MVP has 3,398 yards passing, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 13 games this season.
The Chiefs have a get-right spot this Sunday when they visit the Patriots (3-10).
