Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she totally revamped her approach to her family’s safety after she became a mother for the first time.
The 33-year-old Oscar winner was chatting with fellow celebrity mother Kylie Jenner when she interviewed the reality star for Interview Magazine, which hit the web on Monday.
Jennifer, who also shot back at rumors that she has had plastic surgery, said that she became overwhelmed with fears about her and her son Cy’s safety after she gave birth to him in February of 2022.
She shares the little boy with her husband, the art dealer Cooke Maroney.
The Silver Linings Playbook star attributed her sudden desire to get security guards to ‘intrusive thoughts and anxiety’ that began to overwhelm her after giving birth.

‘I’m curious how your kids react to security,’ she began as she pitched the topic to Kylie.
‘I didn’t have that much security before I had a kid, but once I had one, with my intrusive thoughts and anxiety, I wanted us to have security around all the time,’ she admitted.
Kylie claimed that she as in the same boat, and she said she had never had security guards of her own until she became pregnant with her daughter Stormi, whom she shares with her ex Travis Scott.
In the ‘five-plus’ years since then, she has had a two-guard team ‘in rotation.’
‘[Stormi is] very familiar with them, which I feel comfortable with,’ the Kardashians star explained. ‘She actually has a lot of love for them. I just tell my security to not make it so serious, so they have a good relationship. I’m trying to figure it out too because I never had security growing up, so I don’t know what that’s like, but I try to make it as normal and friendly as possible.’
But Jennifer initially wanted her security team to be ‘invisible,’ though she quickly found out that that approach wasn’t feasible or helpful.
‘Yeah, [having a] friendly [relationship] is nice because before I hired them, in my mind I was like, I want them to be invisible. I don’t want my kid to see you or know you,’ she shared. ‘And then once they start working for you, it’s like, “Well, wait. This is a person in our life. He’s helping us.”‘
The actress added that it was ‘not really a good lesson to ignore the person that’s helping us.’
‘It’s probably better to say, “Say good morning to Sean. Hi. How are you?” We’ve incorporated them more in our lives, which surprised me. That wasn’t how I planned it,’ she added.

Changing her strategy: She said she initially wanted her security to be ‘invisible,’ but she soon found that it was better to treat them warmly to model behavior for Cy; seen November 20 in NYC
‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face!’ Jennifer hit back at speculation that she has had plastic surgery on her nose and eyes in the same interview (she is pictured on the left last week and in September 2009 on the right)
Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer hit back at speculation that she has had plastic surgery on her nose and eyes.
Jennifer — who was seen with her son in New York over the weekend — insisted that her recent change in appearance was due to a make-up technique.

She said: ‘I also think it’s incredible what make-up can do because I work with. Hung [Vanngo], who overlines the lip, and I call him a plastic surgeon, because everybody in the last few months since I’ve been working with him is convinced that I had eye surgery.’
Jennifer took a hard stand on the controversy as she reiterated: ‘I’m like, “I didn’t have eye surgery. I’m doing make-up.”‘
Kylie complimented the actress as she said: ‘Oh my god. You know, you’ve been looking amazing. Have you always worked with him?’
Jennifer responded by joking with a laugh: ‘Well, apparently I’ve had full plastic surgery.’
Kylie backed up the actress as she said: ‘No, I’ve been seeing the pictures. It doesn’t look like that.’
The mother-of-two then got candid about the scrutiny over her face as she once again insisted that she has only had lip fillers.
She said: ‘I did end up getting lip fillers, but it’s also the same with me. I’ll see before and after photos when I’m 12 years old versus 26 and my eyebrows are filled differently. I have contour on. I’m like, “How can you compare my 12-year-old face and say I’ve gotten my jaw shaved and eyelids removed?” I’m like, “What are we talking about?”‘
Jennifer responded by saying that people do not understand how much aging and maturing changes one’s appearance.
She explained: ‘I have the same thing. I started at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30 and I’m like, “I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.”
‘Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, “I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up.”‘
