GAME OF THRONES viewers are still looking into alternative ways the HBO series could have played out despite the show coming to a dramatic conclusion last year. But in a huge diversion from the series, Daenerys Targaryen may never have been known as the Mother of Dragons.
Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) spent the entire eight series trying to prove she was entitled to the Iron Throne and her peaceful nature made her the perfect rule. The Queen of Dragons saw her pets as her own children after tragically giving birth to a still-born son. However, George RR Martin’s original plan for A Song of Ice and Fire included a very different Daenerys.
In season one of Game of Thrones, Daenerys fell pregnant after her marriage to Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) but her unborn child suffered a terrible fate.

When Drogo was fatally wounded, Daenerys asked one of the women her husband’s men had captured to help him.
The woman used dark magic on Drogo and used the life of Daenerys’s unborn son to heal her husband.
Daenerys gave birth to a stillborn son who was severely deformed while Drogo survived but remained in a vegetative state.

From this point onwards, Daenerys realised she could no longer have children and became obsessed with her three dragon eggs.
When the eggs hatched, Daenerys subsequently named herself the Mother of Dragons and saw the creatures as her children.
While Daenerys continued on her mission to take the Iron Throne, two of her dragons were killed and these deaths impacted her severely.
The Mother of Dragons vowed to be a different kind of ruler than the oppressive men she encountered throughout her journey.

However, when Daenerys was finally able to capture King’s Landing she burnt the village to ashes while riding her last remaining dragon.
The Mother of Dragons refused to spare the innocent townsmen and women as the deaths of loved ones earlier in the series transformed Daenerys into a ruthless ruler.
Once she had taken King’s Landing, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) assassinated her when he realised what she had become and her dragon then carried away her body.
But surprisingly George Martin’s original plans for his novels didn’t involve dragons.
