General Hospital is gearing up for many changes in 2024. For starters, the ABC soap is planning to bring most of the old ongoing storylines to their conclusion. So that newer stories can finally begin. While that’s great news in terms of some tales that were being dragged unnecessarily. It might also raise some concerns in regards to the makers writing some characters off. Even if that is temporary. If you haven’t guessed already- we are talking about – Trina and Spencer.
Sure, you’d say that they are the youngest and quickly becoming the most popular soap super couple in current times. So why would General Hospital write them out? Even temporarily. Well, GH is no stranger to strange occurrences. Is it now? It has left viewers gob-smacked many times with unexpected plot twists! So, nothing can ever be put past them. Coming to Spencer and Trina, we know that Nicholas Chavez is soon going to be occupied with the filming of the Monster series.

This will leave him unavailable for General Hospital, at least for a while. So, the soap will have to find a way to explain his absence. The recent spoilers revealed that Trina has the opportunity to go to Paris for a semester away. Commenting on the same, Tabyana Ali shared in a media interaction that Spencer offers to go with her because she does not want to leave him and go. Moreover, she added that hearing your lover make such a declaration is the best thing ever.
Thus, there is a possibility that Nicholas Chavez’s break will be accommodated by sending his character to the city of love with the love of his life on General Hospital. Spoilers for 2024 also tease a massive showdown between Esme, him, and Trina. So, it could also happen that after an explosive conflict between them, Spencer and Trina may decide that some time away from PC would serve them well.
GH/ Time for some Parisian Love?
In a more dramatic twist, there is also a possibility that the old evil Esme may return to General Hospital. Perhaps after being romantically rejected by Spencer, she may violently retaliate. Thus leading Spencer towards a stretch of coma in the hospital. Or even another kidnapping stint! Soap God knows how much General Hospital loves these kidnapping and captive storylines. That would easily explain away Spencer’s absence.
