Margot Robbie’s popular London nightclub, Infernos, relocates fish previously housed next to the dancefloor following criticism from animal welfare activists.

London nightclub, beloved of one of Hollywood’s biggest names, has been forced to re-home its resident fish following complaints from animal rights activists.

Infernos nightclub, in Clapham, with its glittery lights and retro decor, has been forced to re-home its fish which were kept in a tank next to the dancefloor.

It comes after a video went viral on TikTok with the caption: ‘No matter how bad your life is, just remember you’re not a fish living at Infernos’.

The club received backlash from animal rights activists, accusing it of ‘animal cruelty’ for keeping the fish in a loud and bright environment.

Now, the venue has confirmed the fish have been re-homed and are ‘extremely happy’ in their ‘new environment’, The Telegraph reports.

Margot Robbie has previously spoken about her love for the club – it was a venue she used to frequent when living in Clapham

It is not known whether the fish remain together or have been separated.

Actress Margot Robbie previously shared her love for the nightclub, having lived in London in her 20s with a group of pals and now-husband Tom Ackerley.

Robbie spent time living in South London in a shared four-bedroom home before moving to a more lavish pad in the US.

Speaking in an interview with Capital FM’s Sian Welby, she admitted she once inquired about renting out Infernos for a sit down dinner with friends on a birthday, but at the time they said no.

Infernos has been welcoming party-goers since the 1980s after it was converted from a recording studio to a nightclub.

It was also the setting for the famous club scene in The Inbetweeners Movie, where Will, Simon, Jay and Neil try to impress a group of girls with their dancing.

The RSPCA backed animal activists views and said ‘bright lights, loud music and large number of people’ make venues such as nightclubs a poor environment for an animal.
