A brand new Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball: Daima, has been confirmed and will launch in fall 2024.

During a panel scheduled at New York Comic Con, production of a new original anime for the Dragon Ball series was announced. The new anime will be titled Dragon Ball Daima . According to the promotional video shown, the expected launch date is Fall 2024 (October -December).

The announcement also included a message from author Akira Toriyama , explaining a summary of this new project:

Hello, I’m Akira Toriyama. I’m currently working on a new Dragon Ball movie. The title is “Dragon Ball DAIMA”. “DAIMA” is a compound term, which in Japanese means “devil”. Due to a conspiracy, Son Goku and his friends were turned into children. To make things right, they head to a new world! It’s a great adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world.

Because Son Goku had to cope with his small size, he once again used the stick at will to fight, something he hadn’t seen in a long time. I came up with the story and the setting as well as a lot of the design. I’m working hard right now, harder than usual! Every development will solve the mysteries of the Dragon Ball world. I hope you enjoy these different from normal, adorable and powerful battles!

Dragon Ball launches a new anime that author Akira Toriyama invested a lot of effort into.

The Dragon Ball phenomenon began in 1984 when Akira Toriyama ‘s popular Japanese manga debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, becoming a top title during its 10 and a half years of publication. Since then, the manga’s popularity has continued to grow with a staggering record of 260 million copies sold worldwide and counting.

And with the growing popularity of Dragon Ball , it has expanded beyond the manga with television animation projects, movies, games, and merchandise. Now, 39 years after the original manga was released, Dragon Ball continues to grow and reach new heights.
