Robert Downey Jr. sweetly kissed his wife Susan before getting down on one knee in front of her at the 2024 Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on Tuesday night.

The former Iron Man actor, 58, looked dashing in a dark grey tuxedo with black lapels and shiny black ankle boots.

He wore his signature tinted and thick-framed black glasses as he gazed adoringly at his wife of 19 years.

Susan, 50, looked beautiful in a floor-length black dress with a grey neckline and grey straps, perfectly complementing Robert.

The film producer also wore stunning black and silver oval drop earrings, silver and gold bangles, and white open-toed heels.

The Governors Awards presentation is an annual award ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

Three awards that signify lifetime achievement within the film industry are presented at the ceremony: the Academy Honorary Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, and the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.

On the night, Robert and Susan were hilariously photobombed by Florence Pugh, with whom Robert starred in Oppenheimer.

Florence, 28, wore a stunning, floor-length, plink glittery dress with ruffles about the waist, and silver strap heels.

The dress had a criss-cross neckline and Florence paired it with a single chunky silver bracelet.

Robert then posed with Golden Globe winner Cilian Murphy who played the titular character in Oppenheimer.

Cillian’s attendance at the ceremony came just days after he took home the Best Actor in a Motion Picture: Drama award for his performance in Oppenheimer.

At the Awards this year, the Academy honored Angela Bassett, Mel Brooks, Carol Littleton and Michelle Satter.

Also there on the night was Emily Blunt who wore a plunging black dress with a huge glittering silver design reaching from neck to sternum.

Rosamund Pike, who was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe, shared a kiss with Robert on the blue carpet.

She wore a sleeveless dress with a sweetheart neckline and completely covered in red and pink roses.

Monday night marked the 14th Governors Awards, following the 13th in 2022.
