Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has been speaking about Chelsea’s rumoured interest in him.
Journalist Nathan Gissing recently claimed that Chelsea have been discussing potentially signing Jhon Duran this month.
The 20-year-old was asked about Chelsea‘s interest by Win Sports and told them that it would be a pleasure to play for the Blues, with Win Sports journalist Pipe Sierra relaying his words on X.
Duran has made 14 appearances in the Premier League for Villa this season, scoring twice.
The Villans signed Duran from Chicago Fire in an £18m deal (BBC Sport) last January.
Jhon Duran dreaming of Chelsea
Duran says it would be a dream to play for Chelsea, though the Colombian claims he is not aware of interest from Villa’s Premier League rivals.
He told Win Sports: “I have my head in Aston Villa. I am not aware of interests from AC Milan or Chelsea. They are giant clubs, and it would be a pleasure, but I have no knowledge of anything. As a child you dream of playing there.”

Chelsea are struggling right now and are likely to miss out on Champions League football again, with Mauricio Pochettino‘s men currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table.
Nevertheless, Duran’s words show that the Blues still have their appeal.
They also managed to sign Moises Caicedo ahead of Liverpool last summer despite not having European football, so it is clear to see that Chelsea still have the lure of a big club. And based on his recent words, it looks like Duran could easily be lured to west London this month.
The Colombia international could have an audition against Pochettino’s side when Villa take them on at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round of the FA Cup next Friday.
