Arsenal’s Kai Havertz invited two children from a hospice to the win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Posting on his Instagram story over the weekend, Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz shared a picture of himself alongside two children he’d invited to the game against Crystal Palace.
“Met these two legends at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice over Christmas,” Havertz wrote.
“Today they experienced their first Arsenal game!”
It was certainly a great game for the pair to see, with the Gunners coming out 5-0 winners, and it was a lovely gesture from the club’s summer signing to invite the two youngsters along.

This is far from the first time Havertz has made such a gesture, even if he hasn’t always publicised his invitations.
The Evening Standard reported in December that Havertz has given two tickets to someone from the local community for every single Arsenal game this season.
In general, the club’s foundation has helped him to find deserving recipients, but it seems Havertz himself had met a couple of fans in need of a ticket on this occasion.

For anyone wondering about the tag in Havertz’s Instagram story at the top of this piece, that’s the account handle for the Kai Havertz foundation.
In their own words, they’re a “modern, non-profit organization with the aim of helping people and animals”.
“I know that I live a privileged life and that’s another reason why it’s important for me to give back early on and help make tomorrow better than today,” Havertz writes.
“The 2021 flood disaster in my home region and the surrounding areas has once again made me realise that I need to do more. Not only in the moments of great need, but on an ongoing and structured basis.
“With my charity, I want to change my perspective and invest my time and energy away from the football pitch and the 90 minutes at the weekend to make my contribution to society.
“In doing so, it is particularly important to me to support vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and to strengthen community solidarity.”
