PSG is determined to keep Mbappe, even if it has to pay an unprecedented salary in history.
Mbappe still has the dream of playing for Real Madrid.
According to Diaro AS , PSG will ask Kylian Mbappe to sign a contract for another 2 years. In return, the French player will receive a salary of 80 million euros per year, a number that has never appeared in the history of European football.
PSG made the move after hearing that Mbappe could not agree with Real Madrid on financial benefits. The French player asked for a salary of 43 million euros at the Bernabeu. If approved, Real will break the salary structure. Currently, the Royal team’s two highest-paid players, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham, only earn 12 million euros per season.
“Mbappe wants to go to Real Madrid but if his salary is not higher than Vinicius and Bellingham, the deal is likely to fail,” AS said.
With strong financial potential, PSG is willing to pay Mbappe nearly double what this player asks for at Real Madrid. The 2018 World Cup champion faced two options: stay at Parc des Princes to have a dream source of income or go to Bernabeu to seek the opportunity to win the Golden Ball, the personal award he always desired.
Previously, the Spanish press revealed that Mbappe asked Real to spend 125 million euros in bribery fees right after signing the contract. In addition, he also demanded more than 60% of image royalties at the new team.
On February 8, Mbappe opened the score in PSG’s 3-1 victory over Brest, in the round of 16 of the French National Cup. The French striker scored his 30th goal for PSG in all competitions this season, becoming the first person to reach the above milestone at the club level in the 2023/24 season.
Mbappe also had 7 assists for PSG in all competitions, directly contributing to 37 goals after 29 appearances for the French capital club. No striker in the top 5 European national leagues has better numbers than Mbappe.
Including the national team level, the spearhead born in 1998 scored 36 goals and had 13 assists. With the 2023/24 season only entering early February, Mbappe is likely to continue to conquer new records.
