Beaming in blue! Serena Williams keeps it casual as she arrives in Melbourne

Tennis champion Serena Williams is ready to compete in the Australian Open.

The mother-of-one, 38, arrived in Melbourne on Monday, ahead of the tournament which begins on Tuesday.

She smiled from ear to ear after winning her first title in three years, the ASB Classic in Auckland, just two days earlier.

The athlete dressed casually in blue trackpants and a matching longsleeve top.

She teamed her relaxed look with Nike sneakers and accessorised with a colourful bandana and red-framed sunglasses.

The 23-time major champion tucked a bright yellow object under her arm, seemingly one of her daughter Olympia’s toys.

Serena was followed by her entourage, including a friend, her mother Oracene Price, her two-year-old daughter, and her agent Jill Smoller.

Over the weekend, Serena won her first title since welcoming Olympia in late 2017.

She ended her three-year drought after beating fellow American Jessica Pegula in the women’s singles final at the ASB Classic in Auckland on Sunday.

After receiving the trophy, she was joined on the court by her tech entrepreneur husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter.

‘It feels good. It’s been a long time, I think you can see the relief on my face,’ she said.

‘I played an incredible opponent today in Jessica and, honestly, it was a great match and I couldn’t have played anyone better in the final.’

Serena donated her $43,000 winner’s cheque to the victims of Australia’s wildfires.
