Millie Bobby Brown admits she’s ready for the ‘end’ of Stranger Things… as she celebrates third anniversary with fiance Jake Bongiovi

Millie Bobby Brown revealed that she ‘doesn’t watch movies’ and also admitted she is ready for Stranger Things to come to an ‘end.’

The actress, 20 – whose co-star Matthew Modine will be officiating her wedding to fiancé Jake Bongiovi – opened up to The Sun in an article published on Saturday shortly after her Netflix film, Damsel, was released.

The movie was a major success, and notably garnered a whopping 50.8 million views upon its first week of release on the streaming site, per Variety.

However, while talking to the outlet, Brown admitted, ‘I don’t watch movies. People come up to me and say, “You should definitely watch this movie, it would change your life.”‘

‘And I’m like, “How long do I have to sit there for?” Because my brain and I don’t even like sitting for my own movies.’

The actress also celebrated her third anniversary with her fiancé Jake Bongiovi and took to her Instagram stories for a sweet tribute

On the rare occasion that she does watch a film, Millie explained that she has ‘to be doing something’ at the same time.

‘So I either eat too much, because I’m just bored. Or I have to be doing something – baking, grooming a dog or on my computer.’

‘If I’m not doing something, I just can’t sit there and look at the screen for that long. It’s not to say the movie isn’t epic and cinematic and brilliant, or that there aren’t amazing performances. I love some of these actors.’

The Stranger Things star said that her fiancé, Jake, ‘is the biggest movie buff. He just sits and watches movies all day. And I cannot do that. That is the one thing I can’t sit down and do.’

However, she still has a few favorite movies and characters, such as, ‘Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, I love Mad Max. So I feel like I’m always channeling that inner bad-a**.’

Another movie that she was a big fan of was Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, which starred Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. ‘Yes, I Barbied. How could you not? Like, honestly, that would be the last straw…’

She also added, ‘Barbie is what the world needs. You know, just like a big hug of pink and happy women. Just that made me so happy.’

Millie’s latest project, Damsel, dropped on Netflix earlier this month – which also starred Robin Wright, Nick Robinson, Angela Bassett, Ray Winstone and Shohreh Aghdashloo.

The project raked in high viewership upon its release – despite receiving mixed reviews from critics.

The premise follows, ‘A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt,’ per an official IMDB synopsis.

The actress opened up about doing her own stunts on set and said she, ‘knew it was going to be intense but I guess not probably to the extent of what it actually was.’

‘Physically, I thought my body would react to it better. But my body definitely took its toll. Every day I was aching. It was a hard shoot. It pushed me more than any role.’

Brown explained that she suffers from ‘motion sickness’ and some stunts – such as falling – caused her to be ill.

‘On Stranger Things and Damsel, if I do it one too many times, I am outside [being sick] and everybody’s like, “Oh God, Millie.” I’m a nightmare!’

The 20-year-old also gave an update on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things – which is slated to be released sometime next year in 2025.

‘We’re having fun, we’re all back together again and we’re not thinking about the end. The crew is happy, the cast are happy and we’re really excited. It’s a long road ahead. Right now we’re living in bliss.’

However, Millie explained that despite the wonderful experience of working on the Netflix project, she was also ready for the future.

‘It’s been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, like senior year…it’s time to live your own life, it’s time for it to end.’

Brown portrays the role of Eleven in the series – which aired its first season back in 2016.

While working hard on her career in the entertainment industry, Millie reached another milestone on Saturday as she celebrated her third anniversary with Jake Bongiovi – the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi.

She took to her Instagram stories to share an adorable snap of the pair and added the text: ‘three years of bliss love you best friend.’

The couple were first linked back in 2021 and announced their engagement last year in April.

At the time, Millie uploaded a black and white photo as Jake lovingly wrapped his arms around the actress from behind as she flashed the diamond engagement ring on her finger.

‘I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,’ she wrote, referencing to lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song titled, Lover.

Last year in October, Brown gave an update on wedding preparations during an interview with Today.

‘It has not been stressful at all for me. Jake is very involved. He’s very helpful during the whole process,’ she expressed.

‘I’ve never felt alone in it, which I think is really nice. I’m always like, “Is this a good idea? Is this a good idea?” But ultimately, it’s just a very intimate day for the both of us and we’re really both very excited.’

In regards to if Jake’s father, Jon Bon Jovi, will possibly perform during the nuptials, Millie revealed that the singer will not. ‘I think the man needs a break. He doesn’t stop.’

Her Stranger Things co-star, Matthew Modine, was also recently revealed to be the officiator of the upcoming nuptials; seen in 2022 in NYC

She also opened up to WWD about the big day, and explained that the lovebirds are aiming for an intimate and private affair. ‘I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once.’

‘And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me,’ she said, adding, ‘So I feel it’s important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest.’

Her Stranger Things co-star, Matthew Modine, was also recently revealed to be the officiator of the upcoming nuptials.

The actor – who plays the character of Dr. Martin Brenner in the show – told Access, ‘I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea.’
