Tony this evening told The Irish Sun he was “all good now” and praised the care he received from medics as “the best ever”.

Earlier this evening, he posted a picture on Instagram of himself in a ward bed wearing hospital pyjamas and said: “Thanks to the cardio team, Hermitage.

“Heart attack in the morning, stent in the afternoon, sweet (and) sour chicken in the evening.

“See ya later suckers.”

He accompanied the post with the song ‘I’m Feelin’ It’, by Sunset Bros and Mark McCabe.

According to US showbiz site TMZ, Conor was one of a number of relatives who joined Tony at his hospital bedside today.

He is expected to be released sometime tonight.

The news comes as Conor prepares to return to the octagon to fight Michael Chandler next month.

The former two-division champion will make his long-awaited cage comeback in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

The Irishman, 35, hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since shattering his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

McGregor underwent a long and arduous rehab to recover from the shattered tibia and fibula he suffered in the Sin City showdown.

Dad Tony posed for pictures with his family at the Road House movie premiere in the UK just last month. Conor stars in the film.

Viral response

Tony himself went viral during Ireland’s Rugby World Cup exploits after keeping supporters guessing if he was attending a crunch match against South Africa.

Viewers were distracted when a Boys in Green fan who bore an uncanny resemblance to the viral ‘Coinage’ star appeared on the big screen during the game.

But speaking exclusively to the Irish Sun from his Dublin home last September, ex-taxi driver Tony provided a pic and confirmed the random crowd punter was “an imposter”.

He laughed: “I can confirm I am watching the game at home.”

Family heartbreak

Also last year there was heartbreak for the McGregor family after Tony revealed in June that Conor’s aunt Pamela had passed away.

He wrote: “It is with deep regret I announce the death of my beloved sister Pamela 25/06/23. Rest In Peace.”
