Are Brook Lynn And Chase Gearing Up To Petition For Custody Of Violet?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) certainly are having an interesting time adjusting to life as newlyweds.

Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) wasn’t wrong in relaying her concern that this is not how they should be starting out their life together — dealing with the heavy grief of losing Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) and now Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) relapse.

Their eagerness to take charge and bring Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) to live with them at the Quartermaine mansion is admirable, but the whole family will rightfully worry that it’s too much for them to bear as a new couple — especially if it requires more than Finn just letting Violet move out for a bit. Just where is this headed?

General Hospital Spoilers — Hamilton Finn Bites Back

When Brook Lynn and Chase pitched their plan for Violet to spend some time with them at the Quartermaines, Finn saw right through them and what they were trying to do.

Insulted and feeling attacked, he lashed out and told them he would never let them take Violet away from him as she was the only good thing in his life.

Later, having words with his brother alone, he screamed in Chase’s face to get out of his apartment after he again requested that he and his new bride take Violet off Finn’s hands.

Clearly, this is going to be a bigger uphill battle than either of them though, but they’re in this for the long run.

GH Spoilers – Hint The Situation Grows More Dire

Brook Lynn and Chase are going to be more committed than ever to making sure no harm comes to Violet as Finn continues to behave more erratically. Having to take Finn to court to petition for custody of Violet is going to spark a war in this already shrinking family.

While some fans are concerned Finn may get behind the wheel while under the influence and end up crashing with Violet in the car, others suspect Brook Lynn and Chase will head to court proactively before any such harm can befall her.

But will Finn falling off the wagon and not otherwise subjecting his daughter to any risks be enough to take custody away from him or order that he seek rehabilitation? It’s not likely.

General Hospital Spoilers — There May Be An Easier Route

While Brook Lynn and Chase certainly have the best of intentions, it may pain them to learn they wouldn’t be the court’s first pick in handing over custody of someone else’s child.

Moreover, Finn hasn’t broken any laws or posed a threat to his child’s well-being that warrants removing her from his care. Violet loves her aunt and uncle, but the aunt part is new — and neither of them are parents.

Moreover, they would be proposing housing her in the Q mansion — not their own home. It’s not a solid case, but someone else may have a stronger one.

Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) is bound to continue to struggle with feelings of guilt over allegedly abandoning Finn in his time of need. Will Elizabeth find the best way to make it up to him is to be there for her niece when he can’t?

As the only person in Violet’s life with any relation to her mother, Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), the court may favor giving Elizabeth temporary custody instead since she has cared for her in Hayden’s absence before.
