Thug Life & Vidaa Muyarchi: Ajith, Kamal Haasan movies get Pongal release dates!

Vidaa Muyarchi starring Ajith in the lead, and Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan in the lead are jointly headed for a Pongal 2025 release next January. Plans are on for Vidaa Muyarchi‘s release date to be January 9, 2025 (Thursday), and the Thug Life release date to be be January 10, 2025 (Friday).

This would give both movies the biggest Pongal weekend advantage, since following Vidaamuyarchi and Thug Life‘s release weekend, Pongal holidays follow from Tuesday (January 14) till Friday (January 17) leading into the next weekend as well.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies is releasing both Vidaa Muyarchi and Thug Life in Tamil Nadu theaters. An official announcement on the film’s release dates is currently awaited.

Vidaamuyarchi directed by Magizh Thirumeni is a remake of the Hollywood suspense thriller Breakdown (1997). The movie also stars Trisha, Regina Cassandra, Arjun, Aarav among others, and has Anirudh Ravichander for music. Vidaamuyarchi is produced by Lyca Productions.

Thug Life written and directed by Mani Ratnam is a joint production venture of Madras Talkies, Raaj Kamal Films International, and Red Giant Movies. The movie also stars Trisha, Silambarasan TR, Ashok Selvan, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi among others, and has AR Rahman for music.
