Steph Curry Makes History Again During Recent Denver Nuggets Game

Steph Curry made history during a recent match against the Denver Nuggets. On Wednesday (Nov. 8), the new look Golden State Warriors faced off against the Nuggets at Ball Arena. Entering the game, the Underrated star had been on a hot streak, averaging 30.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. For this particular high-stakes match-up, the Curry magic was on full display yet again.

Curry was six of 13 from deep, with 23 points in total for the night. With this stat, Steph became the first player in NBA history to drain more than four threes in each of his first nine games of a season, according to the Warriors’ official X/Twitter account.

However, his usual onslaught of threes weren’t enough to hold off the reigning NBA Champions. Nuggets star player Nikola Jokic had an equally impressive game. The Serbian athlete clocked 35 points with 14-25 in field goals, three steals, 13 rebounds, five assists, and one block, ESPN reports.

The game came down to the wire with both Warriors stars Curry and Klay Thompson having a chance to tie the game. Steph had a fantastic look for a game tying shot but failed to net his lay-up. Klay had his turn to play the night’s hero, but the ball slipped out of his hand before he could even put a shot up.

Curry and the Warriors lost to the Nuggets 105-108 despite his historic night. The Warriors remain in first place in their division but now fall to 6-3 on the year. The Nuggets, however, improved to 8-1 and continued to look like the best team in the NBA in the young 2023/24 season.

Steph Curry’s latest accomplishment further strengthens his resume as one of his generation’s most significant players in the league. The former unanimous MVP also holds the record for most three-point shots made in NBA history, passing Ray Allen, who previously held the mark, during the league’s 2021-2022 regular season.
