Following on from its disastrous weekend at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Mercedes is not beefing up its chances of success at next weekend’s race in Las Vegas.
Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff has insisted he will not rely on simulations to conjure expectations for the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.
The Brackley-based squad enters the race weekend having suffered a troubled event last time out in Sao Paulo.
Both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell endured high tyre degradation during the race with Hamilton scoring eighth while his team-mate was forced to retire late in the Grand Prix.
Wolff described the weekend as Mercedes’ worst since it rejoined the grid as a manufacturer in 2010.
Next on the schedule is the long-await trip to Las Vegas, which will be a step into the unknown for the teams due to the track being a new addition to the calendar.
Wolff has asserted that he is not forming any pre-event goals based on simulator data after its torturous weekend in Brazil.
