Hailey Baldwin Bieber is more than aware that she and Justin Bieber do not coordinate their outfits.
In a new cover story for GQ Hype published Tuesday, the model and Rhode founder, 26, addressed online speculation surrounding her and her musician husband’s mismatching ensembles when they step out together.
“It’s so funny because I see so many people talk about this,” Hailey said. “He may want to wear baggy sweats to dinner, and I might want to wear a tiny little dress just because that’s how I’m feeling.”
“We can’t sit there and be like, ‘So I’m going to wear this and you’re going to wear this,’” she continued of her and Justin, 29, whom she said gets dressed before her.

Justin and Hailey Bieber Flash Huge Smiles in Matching Jackets at Victoria Monét Concert
One of the most memorable examples of the couple’s difference in styles was when they stepped out to celebrate the launch of Rhode’s strawberry glaze lip treatment at a Krispy Kreme locations at Times Square in New York City on Aug. 28.
Hailey was all dolled up in a red minidress with matching open-toe heels and an elegant handbag, while Justin sported gray sweats, yellow Crocs and a pink trucker hat. Hailey’s longtime friend, Kelia Moniz, offered her opinion on the matter.
“It’s like, it wasn’t Justin’s day. It was Hailey’s day. He’s there to support his wife, period,” Moniz told GQ Hype of the couple’s attire that day. “But also, he still looks cool, so you can’t hate the guy.”

Despite a few instances where the couple may not always be on the same page when it comes to coordinating their clothes, they recently stepped out together in casual looks when they grabbed coffee and breakfast in West Hollywood on Sunday.
For the outing, Hailey paired a cropped vintage Calvin Klein top with low-rise, wide leg navy trousers and a matching belt. She accessorized with a black shoulder bag, her signature bedazzled “B” necklace, red snakeskin boots and a pair of black sunglasses.
The “Sorry” singer, meanwhile, wore a black button-down, brown trousers and a pair of blue slippers, along with black shades and a backwards black-and-white polka dot hat. He also styled his look with a gold watch, several rings and two bedazzled mushroom chains around his neck.
