In January 2024, Kylian Mbappe, the prolific French striker, made the momentous choice to join Real Madrid, securing a contract with an unprecedented salary.

With Kylian Mbappe entering the final year of his contract at PSG this summer, speculations about a potential move to Real Madrid are once again starting to do the rounds.

The 24-year-old was close to joining Los Blancos last summer on a free transfer but suddenly decided to make a U-turn and sign a new contract with PSG.

The new deal was for two years, until 2024, with an option for an additional twelve months, with the caveat being that the player must also agree to activate that extension clause.

But now, according to AS, Mbappe has no desire to remain at Paris Saint-Germain beyond next year and has already told Real Madrid officials that he wants to join the club in 2024.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has always dreamt of playing for Los Blancos and does not wish to delay it any further.

On top of that, PSG’s failure in the UEFA Champions League is also becoming an issue for the France national team captain, whose dream is to win Europe’s most coveted trophy.

The report states that Mbappe would be open to joining Real Madrid in the upcoming summer itself, although such a move would only be possible if he were to come for free, as Los Blancos do not intend to splash the cash on him.

And with PSG unlikely to give away their superstar just like that, everything points towards Mbappe possibly leaving Parc des Princes for the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024.

The report states that nothing will change his mind this time around and that the forward has already informed high-level authorities at Real Madrid that he wants to make the jump next year.

Mbappe decided to continue in Paris last year at the insistence of France president Emmanuel Macron. Having done so, the 24-year-old now does not feel obligated to anyone anymore and wishes to follow his dream and sign for Real Madrid.

The former AS Monaco starlet has even scheduled a meeting with PSG in the coming months to inform them of his intention to leave the club. But with the Parisian giants unlikely to sanction an exit this summer, he will have to wait until 2024 before he gets his move.

As for Real Madrid, they are very clear that there will not be any kind of negotiations with PSG for Mbappe and the only way they are going to sign him is if the player becomes free and paves the way for a move.
