MMA fighter Paige VanZant recently weighed in on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship—and she’s not winning over any Swifties with her opinions.
During the Nov. 29 episode of VanZant’s podcast, A Kick— Love Story, she and her husband, fellow MMA fighter Austin Vanderford, discussed the pop star and NFL player’s whirlwind romance.
“I think that the Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce ‘love story,’ I believe it is 100 percent fake,” VanZant declared. “Come for me, Swifities. You know what? I’ve got UFC fans coming for me. I think I can handle the Swifties.”
The OnlyFans content creator detailed her conspiracy theory, claiming that Swift and Kelce’s relationship is strictly for publicity.
“It is huge for the NFL because, yes, the NFL is big. Taylor Swift is huge, and now she’s getting an entirely different demographic to watch the NFL,” VanZant claimed. “Think of the wives that are buying Travis Kelce jerseys now. It’s a huge publicity play on both fronts…There’s so much strategic stuff that’s happening.”
VanZant also suggested that the NFL temporarily changing its X (formerly Twitter) bio to “NFL (Taylor’s Version)” was planned to benefit Swift’s re-recorded album sales.
She claimed that viral clips of Swift cheering on Kelce at his NFL games were orchestrated, too.
“Every game, it seems so fake to me and so phony,” she said. “…All of a sudden the cameras are right on Taylor Swift is doing a secret handshake with Patrick Mahomes‘ wife. …It’s like, how old are you?”
In the caption of VanZant’s Instagram post sharing a clip from the conversation, she wrote, “There. I said it and I mean it .”
Followers didn’t waste time sounding off in the comments. One person retorted, “Seems like YOU are the one looking for publicity! There I said it!.”
Another Instagram user commented, “I’ve loved you and followed you for years but I’m unfollowing after this one. Do some research before making claims like this pls because Taylor would never .”
Meanwhile, someone else pointed out, “She’s a billionaire that tours the globe, he’s a multi millionaire that has two championships in one of the worlds biggest sports leagues… What do they possibly have to gain from this?”
