In the November issue of Variety,ย Eilishย shared details about her ๐ e๐ฅual orientation and her attraction to women, marking a significant moment in her career and personal life.
“I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them really…I’m physically attracted to them, but I’m also very intimidated by them, their beauty and their presence,” she said at the time.
Ellish thought it was “obvious”
At a subsequent event, Variety’s Hitmakers,ย Billie Eilishย again found herself in the spotlight, but this time to address the public’s reaction to her revelation.
The young artist expressed surprise at the responses, noting that she felt her ๐ e๐ฅual orientation was “pretty obvious.”
“I thought Wasn’t it obvious? I didn’t realize people didn’t know,” she said.
“I don’t really believe in that. I wondered: why can’t we just exist? I saw the article and I thought, ‘Oh, I think I came out today [of the closet].’
“I just don’t believe in [coming out of the closet]. I’m wondering: why can’t we just exist?
“I’ve been doing this for a long time and I just didn’t talk about it, But it’s exciting for me because I guess people didn’t know, so it’s great that they know.”
Of her romantic relationships,ย Eilishย dated rapperย Brandon Adams, a romance that was featured in the documentaryย “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,”ย but she said she was unhappy with him.
She then datedย Jesse Rutherford,ย the lead singer of The Neighborhood, who she dated for about seven months.
