“House of the Dragon” Season 2: Unveiling Dragons and Drama in the Summer of 2024
HBO has released the teaser for the second season of “House of the Dragon” at CCXP23 in São Paulo.
The series, based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” unfolds 200 years prior to the events of “Game of Thrones,” based on the story of House Targaryen.
Returning cast members for Season 2 include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additionally, new faces will grace the screen, with Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.
The trailer hints at a violent family war building on the conflicts introduced in the first season. The war is fronted by dragons between the factions led by Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower for control of the Iron Throne.
The newest season of the Game of Thrones prequel series will follow in the aftermath of season 1, which laid the groundwork for the war between The Blacks, led by Rhaenyra Targaryen (D’Arcy), and The Greens, led by Alicent Hightower (Cooke).
