Season 4 of The Kardashians picked up right where Season 3 left off, with the final moments revealing that Tristan Thompson had moved back into ex Khloe Kardashian‘s home.
Tristan, 32, suddenly lost his mother Andrea in January, with the NBA star becoming the primary caregiver for his 16-year-old brother Amari who suffers from epilepsy.
Tristan also suffered a blow when the roof of his house gave out due to the surprising inclement weather in January 2023, leading to Tristan and Amari moving in with Khloe.
While Khloe has insisted multiple times in the premiere and this week’s new episode – entitled When Is Being Me Gonna Be Okay – that she’s still not with Tristan romantically, it seems Tristan is continuing to try and woo her.
Towards the end of the new episode, Thompson opened up about his failures, even calling Khloe – who he dated on and off from 2016 to 2021 – his ‘person.’

The episode cuts back to Khloe’s house, where Khloe and Tristan are going through some of Tristan’s mementos such as baby photos, joking he was, ‘so fat,’ as Tristan jokes he was, ‘thick.’
‘I’m not naive to the fact that my ex boyfriend is living in my house and that you know we’re in really sensitive times. Tristan is in the very fresh stages of grieving,’ Khloe says in confession.
She tells Tristan that all of those photos and other things have already been scanned,’ adding in confession, ‘But without me being an a**hole all the time, I still just want to make sure boundaries are set, that they’re in place, and that there’s just full transparency and honesty.’
They both sit down as Khloe asks him, ‘What’s going on with your house? Because you’re gonna… eventually go back there.’
‘Yeah. Um… as of right now the roof is still intact,’ Tristan begins, as Khloe jokes, ‘I have a feeling you’re over there poking little holes in the ceiling, let’s get more flood damage so you’re here longer.’
Tristan jokes that he’s, ‘literally taking cinder blocks and just throwing it on my roof,’ but he adds, ‘right now there’s literally a bunch of construction going on. I can’t wait for you to see it.’
Khloe laughs and says, ‘Trust me, I can’t wait to see the finished product either,’ as Tristan adds, ‘No, I get it. There’s nothing like your own space, to a degree.’
‘I still need my space. I still love being alone,’ Khloe says, as Tristan says he’s a, ‘great houseguest,’ which Khloe admits he is, adding, ‘you’re super helpful, you’re great with the kids, trust me, I appreciate it.’

Not naive: ‘I’m not naive to the fact that my ex boyfriend is living in my house and that you know we’re in really sensitive times. Tristan is in the very fresh stages of grieving,’ Khloe says in confession
Khloe adds in confession, ‘I never want to be someone that anyone can accuse that I mislead them when it comes to love. I think I’m so adamant about that because I’ve been on the receiving end of it and I just don’t think love is something you play with.’
Tristan thanks her for allowing him to ‘crash here while my roof crashes to the floor,’ adding he’s working for ESPN next week.
‘Doing live TV is really hard, like to be natural and listen and still not be nervous and not saying anything inappropriate or raunchy or whatever, and go into professional mode,’ Khloe says.
Tristan adds, ‘That’s the one thing that’s bad about sports. We’re groomed to be like so tough, with a f**k you mentality. We’re in a competition in a field with so many people that’s like a dog-eat-dog world, and it wasn’t really until like I really had to look at myself and was like, I need to hold myself accountable. We’re taught like, be the man, do what you please, bros over hoes, all these stupid words, it’s like bro… the guy who probably made that is probably the biggest…’ as Khloe finishes, ‘Loser.’
‘You gotta just like be your own man and don’t care what people think and don’t feel you have to get validation from others. You know True is understanding stuff, and Prince understands things and they go to school and they have classmates. Like the last thing I want them to do is feel embarrassed that I’m their father. I think going down this journey I’ve been on right now, especially what happened to my mom, I always ask myself, why do certain things to hurt certain people? I think the thing that always sticks to my mind is like… I know how much I care about you, I know how much I love you, you’re my best friend. How come I like I meet my person… how come I’ve done so much wrong things to them? Like why put you through that?’ Tristan says.
A producer asks Khloe in confession if it’s hard to hear Tristan call her his, ‘person,’ as she responds, ‘Tristan has said, before, like, I’m his person. I’m not saying I don’t believe him, but I’ve heard this and, of course it’s angered me before because I’m like, “Well if I f***ing am, then why would you have treated me this way? And how many times? This isn’t like a one-time and here we are. I love love, and I am a hopeless romantic, but that’s not going to change how I feel and what happened.’
Tristan tells Khloe that as he, ‘enters this new chapter in my life, it’s always good to have a strong support system.’
‘Tristan, no matter what, we’re not a family of an eye for an eye, especially in times of need, that’s when you rally together and I want to be good for the lifetimes after this. I want my karma just always to be great. I’m not justifying anything you’ve done, I mean obviously everything you did was f***ed up and I’m strong enough that it’s not going to break me, God knows that. But also Tristan, if what you say is true, if you like really thought I was your person or whatever you just said, then that means you will feel this much more affected by losing me and want to change, for yourself, not because there’s a prize at the end of it. We’re gonna be in each other’s lives for the rest of each other’s lives because of our kids, so I’m not gonna fight that and I’m gonna make sure it’s as nice as possible, for me,’ Khloe says to Tristan.
She adds in confession, ‘What happened between Tristan and I was not some small little incident, it was some massive situation that really was a very traumatic experience for me and my life. So I’m not gonna forget it. But I’m so proud that I’m able to be kind and mature and show my children that mommy and daddy can co-exist and be co-parents and I’m able to be here for him when he’s in his time of need. Someone I didn’t even really wanna look at a couple of months ago, I have living under my roof. I lost a parent. I don’t wish that on anybody. I don’t care what you did to me, this is something beyond my pain. My moral compass is saying for me to be a good person and me to be supportive when someone is in need. So everyone, you do what your moral compass says, I’m gonna do what mine says.’

Chapter: Tristan tells Khloe that as he, ‘enters this new chapter in my life, it’s always good to have a strong support system’
Tristan tells Khloe, ‘And you’ve done more than most humans could ever do but it shows how like pure and great your soul is and how much you just don’t want no bad energy. You want everyone to be happy and be in a good place and obviously do it for our children and for yourself.’
‘Like you’re a good person at your core. That’s why I was with you. Everyone has done dumb s**t in their life. Just not everyone has done it in a public platform, which sucks, but, just like you can do dumb s**t publicly, you can do incredible s**t publicly. My mom, all of us, we’re always rooting for you, we always want the best for you, and like we believe in you as a person,’ Khloe says, adding, ‘And remember, you’re not your past, your past doesn’t define you, and just moving forward, you know, hold yourself in a way that you will be proud of or if your kids read something about you, you’ll be proud of that. Your legacy, what you want to leave behind, is way greater than what the world has been exposed to,’ Khloe says to Tristan.
‘My plans for me and Tristan is to get him settled into his home and then for him and I to be good co-parenters. I don’t really have plans, I haven’t thought anything,’ Khloe says in confession.
Tristan says, ‘Just trying to be the best version of myself and make mommy proud. That’s all it’s about. She’s still above watching us,’ as Khloe insists, ‘She’s proud of you, she is,’ as the episode comes to an end.
