JOE COLE ripped into Manchester City’s players for the “unacceptable” matching outfits they wore while arriving for their Champions League clash with Young Boys.
The TNT cameras caught Pep Guardiola and the Man City squad getting off the bus ahead of the game in Switzerland on Wednesday evening.
Jack Grealish was the first Manchester City player off the bus in the outfitThe cardigans were personalised for each playerKyle Walker was another Man City man seen in the questionable outfitPhil Foden also wore the white shirt and cardigan combination Pep Guardiola did not wear the matching outfit his players were showing off
Guardiola was in one of his more regular outfits – a turtle neck and blazer.
But all of the players chose to wear rather outlandish matching shirts and cardigans for the occasion – along with light blue jeans.
Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker, Sergio Gomez, Julian Alvarez, Josko Gvardiol, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland were all filmed stepping off the bus in open collar white shirts and personalised cardigans.
The cardigans had a Man City armband and the players’ names and numbers on the back.
And ex-Chelsea and England man Cole was quick to rip into their attire when it was brought up in the studio.
He said: “Unacceptable. The gaffer got out first and he looks like the Milk Tray man. He looks brilliant.
“He looks round and, I don’t care how many Trebles you win guys, you gotta sort the gear out. It’s horrendous. I can’t say any more than that.”
Former Man City defender Joleon Lescott added: “Questionable. When it doesn’t look good on Jack Grealish, I’m like yeah…”
Erling Haaland was another to oblige with the cardigansJoe Cole was not impressed with Man City’s players’ outfit choices
And fans on social media also questioned the Man City players’ sartorial choice.
One said: “🤣🤣🤣🤣 look at the state of them.”
Another added: “I honestly don’t know whose idea this was 😂😂😂😂😂😂.”
While a third replied: “Whoever’s idea this was is deffo out of a job in the morning 😂 what’s wrong with a tracksuit?!”
