Jessica Chastain met Taylor Swift at the 2011 Met Gala when they were seated next to each other.

At the time, the Scenes From a Marriage star, 46, was going through a breakup and she found herself talking about it with the Cruel Summer singer, 34.

‘We were both sitting next to each other … and she was so sweet,’ the Interstellar star told Jimmy Fallon on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show, where she was promoting her new movie Memory.

She continued: ‘I just went through a break-up and I was talking to her about that, and we went and danced together – it was such a fun night.’

And then the next day she had a notification from iTunes that the 12-time Grammy winner had sent her a playlist. She thought it was an ad.

‘And then the next day, I had an email from iTunes that said, like, ‘Taylor Swift’ or whatever, and I just thought that it was a Taylor Swift album,’ Chastian said.

She opened the email and discovered the Bad Blood singer ‘had made me a break-up playlist that she sent me! Isn’t that the sweetest thing?’

‘What are you kidding me? That’s unbelievable!’ Fallon, 49, responded.

‘I know! And here I thought it was like a Taylor Swift advertisement,’ Chastian added.

‘And she had, like, curated all these break-up songs to send me to help me get through my break-up.’

The night she met Swift was her first Met Gala and she elaborated on that experience for Fallon.

‘It was like the first year I was invited to the Met Ball, first year I had movies out, and we were both sitting next to each other,’ she said.

‘We were like next to Ryan Murphy, who was just started to become successful with all his TV shows,’ Chastain explained.

‘And she was so sweet. I just went through a breakup and I was talking to her about that. And, you know, we went and danced together. It was such a fun night.’

‘I was in Mexico City and she was touring there and I was like, “Oh, I’m going to Taylor’s concert,”‘ Chastain explained to Fallon.

After the concert she shared a carousel of photos on Instagram.
