The Kelce brothers–Travis and Jason–aren’t known as musicians. They’re two of the most successful players in the NFL, and they’ve built their fame and fortune from their time on the field…but lately, music has been a focus as well. One of the two stars–Jason–nearly conquered a Billboard chart this week, but his brother’s girlfriend blocked him from managing the feat.
Taylor Swift once again rules the Vinyl Albums chart this week. Billboard publishes the ranking of the bestselling albums on vinyl in the U.S. every week, and the pop and country superstar has led the charge now for more than a month. As she owned the list more, she blocks Jason Kelce from scoring his first No. 1 album in America.
On the latest edition of the Vinyl Albums chart, Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) holds at No. 1 for a sixth consecutive frame–its entire life on the tally. A band named The Philly Specials debuts collections right behind her at Nos. 2 and 3. The group’s A Philly Special Christmas Special (The Deluxe Album 2022 & 2023) launches in the runner-up rung this time around. That box set includes both of the outfit’s albums. Their 2023-only offering, A Philly Special Christmas Special, is new at No. 3.
The Philly Specials is a music group featuring Jason Kelce as well as fellow players Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. The three formed the band last year to record holiday music and donate the proceeds to charity.
2023 has been a huge year for The Philly Specials, thanks to Jason’s brother becoming involved. While he’s not a member of the band, he did lend his name and vocals to one tune featured on their new set, “Fairytale of Philadelphia.” His inclusion, paired with the fact that his profile has exploded thanks to his relationship with Swift, helped make the song a Billboard charting hit.
Millions of people learned about The Philly Specials after Travis became involved, as anyone in Swift’s orbit immediately sees their fame grow. Now that they’re better-known, the group’s two releases this year have become chart wins…but they didn’t quite reach No. 1.

Travis did earn a No. 1 on a Billboard chart with “Fairytale of Philadelphia” but the group narrowly misses out on the top spot on an album ranking, blocked only by Swift–the same woman who helped them hit a new high in the first place.
