A Complete New Animation from Start!
One Piece is getting a remake anime adaptation animated by a new studio, Wit Studio. This was announced at the Jump Fest event held on 17 December. This was probably the biggest news out of all in the Jump Fest.
It seems like the One Piece franchise wants to target a newer audience who like flashy and vibrant animation like Oshi no Ko and Jujutsu Kaisen. It might work for those who think One Piece is too big to catch on, so now they can just watch from the start with new animation.
With Wit Studio working on the remake, I am sure that the female will turn out well. Given the right amount of time, this might actually bring new viewers to One Piece as the Live Action did. So, in this article, we will be talking in detail about the One Piece remake announcement.

In Jump Fest 2024, Day 2 (December 17), there was a stage event for One Piece, where many projects related to One Piece were announced, which will be released in 2024. The best among all was the announcement of a new anime project, a remake of One Piece titled “The One Piece.” The remake is said to be in production right now under Wit Studio.
The One Piece will get a complete re-animation from the start. The remake will be animated by Wit Studio, known for animating animes like Attack on Titan Season 1-3, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga.

A trailer was also released on Netflix’s social media handles, which we got to know more details about. This remake will start from the Romance Dawn arc, the very first arc of One Piece. It seems like this will exclusively be released on Netflix.
The production committee of One Piece, a collaboration between Shueisha, Fuji Television, and Toei Animation, announced that this new project aims to reanimate One Piece anime, which will start from East Blue Saga and will have modern visuals.

Furthermore, they said, it is a project to re-imagine the animation of One Piece, a series that started 25 years ago and is now advancing forward at full throttle. It will be different from the current TV anime series. This new project aims to deliver Luffy’s adventure in a nostalgic yet new way.
They said while the release is still far in the future and is also quite long, we, along with our new partners, Wit Studio and Netflix, will do our best as the “ALL ONE PIECE” team to provide it to fans from all around the world and to all the generation, who will encounter One Piece with a fresh new perspective.
My Thoughts on the New Remake of One Piece
I think this is one of the best decisions taken by them since we all know that today’s date, it is hard to watch anime with low animation, especially when it is not even 1920×1080 resolution.
This will be the best opportunity to grab a new generation audience who only watches animes with flashy animation like Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, etc. You might say the animation doesn’t affect me much when the story is good, but I think it does affect me a lot.
Recently, I wanted to watch Evangelion, but I was having many difficulties adapting to its animation style since I am now used to watching animes with great animation, so binging an old anime in between was hard for me to adapt to.
How One Piece Remake can be successful?
This is not the first time when an anime is getting a re-animation/remake. We have seen many animes getting remake anime, like Hunter X Hunter, Full Metal Alchemist, Fruit Basket, etc.
In most cases, the remakes are getting more popular than the original ones since they have new flashy animation, and Hunter X Hunter, Full Metal Alchemist, and Fruit Basket are the best examples of it.
One Piece remake, The One Piece, may not be as popular as the original one, but it will surely bring a new audience to One Piece, and this might be a good decision on a long-term basis if executed properly.
