They’ve all topped the box office with their action films.
And during Sunday night’s Academy Awards, the trio of Gal Gadot, Sigourney Weaver and Brie Larson created a special moment in presenting the honors for Best Original Score onstage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The trio of actresses gathered at the podium with an empowering dialogue focused on the ongoing battle against gender inequality in the entertainment business.
Larson kicked things off in saying, ‘It is an absolute honor to stand beside my fellow superhero, Gal, and the woman who paved the way for us, Sigourney Weaver.’

Gadot added: ‘We are so grateful for you and its such an honor to be standing with you – we love you Sigourney!’
Weaver acknowledged the cumulative cinematic strength of herself and her two peers, throwing in a pop reference the crowd enjoyed.
‘The three of us make a powerful combination,’ Weaver said, ‘and just now we decided that after the show, we’re gonna start our own fight club!’

Gadot said that ‘men are all invited, but no shirts allowed,’ while Larson kept track of the prizes for said competition.
‘The winner will get a lifetime supply of deodorant, sushi and tequila,’ Larson said, as Gadot added that ‘the loser gets to answer questions from journalists about how it feels to be a woman in Hollywood.’
Weaver chimed in, ‘Kidding aside, we just want to stand here together and say all women are superheroes.’

Their powerful message resonated further with the winner of the category, Joker composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, whose win made her the first ever woman from Iceland to claim an Academy Award.
Guðnadóttir continued with a message of strength and inspiration for the women watching: ‘To the girls, to the women, to the mothers, to the daughters who hear the music bubbling within: Please speak up – we need to hear your voices.’
