Usyk had been dominating the world title fight that took place in August this year at Poland’s Stadion Wroclaw.

However in the fifth round, the Ukrainian star was dropped – which was immediately ruled as a controversial low blow.

That moment led to a four-minute stoppage, with Usyk visibly shaking on the canvas as he looked to catch his breath and gather himself.

The referee gave him the time he needed to recover from the shot, but eventually told him that he had one minute to get back to his feet for the fight to resume.

Doing exactly that, Usyk did not look impressed with the referee forcing the competitors to touch gloves in a staged show of sportsmanship.

Dubois looked to pounce in order to capitalise on a recovering Usyk, but it was the WBA, WBO and IBF champ who reclaimed control of the fight before the end of the fifth round.

In the end, Usyk finished the fight in the ninth round with a straight right hand, leading to Dubois being counted out on one knee.

Warren subsequently launched an appeal to overturn Usyk’s win, but the Dubois team were unsuccessful.

Usyk will next be in action when he faces Tyson Fury for the undisputed heavyweight title of the world on February 17.

Meanwhile Dubois will face Jarrell Miller as part of a stacked card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday – dubbed as the ‘Day of Reckoning’.

Former world champions Deontay Wilder faces Joseph Parker, with Anthony Joshua fighting Otto Wallin in the main event – live on talkSPORT.

Speaking ahead of his clash against ‘Big Baby’, Dubois has said: “It’s like a world title fight. I’ve had enough time. I’m coming off of a camp.

“I’m not out of shape at all. I’m always in the gym, always ready. They put it forward to us, and we took it on

“This is the fight that I think I need at this stage. Let’s got for it. No ducking, no dodging in this game.

“I want to leave a legacy behind that’s remembered and make sure I finish what we started.”

Dubois added: “He’s [Miller] a big unit, you can’t miss him, and whatever else with that. For me as a puncher, this is what I prefer. Come forward fighters, I mix it up with them.

“Let him carry on. I’ll see him in the ring. That’s how I feel about it. I’ll see him in the ring. I don’t want to burn too much energy on all of that.”
