Batman’s car made a surprising appearance in an episode of the Dragon Ball Z anime.
In the childhood of countless children in the 90s, Dragon Ball and Batman were two classic animated works, attracting viewers with their well-built storylines and characters. These two series seem to not have much in common, yet there is an interesting crossover. That is Batman’s appearance in the Dragon Ball anime but not many people realize it.
One of the odd easter eggs that few people saw was the appearance of an iconic Batman item briefly appearing in an episode of the Dragon Ball Z anime.
Batman’s Batmobile changed color when it appeared in the Dragon Ball Z anime
This easter egg was installed in episode 26 of the Dragon Ball Z anime. Looking at the image above, do you recognize Batman’s Batmobile floating in the frame? With the Batmobile appearing in this scene, this is clearly a nod to DC Comics.
In this episode, the Z warrior group faces Nappa – who is destroying cities for fun. At one point, the Batmobile is suddenly clearly visible, albeit in a different color in the DC Comics version. Turns out there was a special reason why it appeared in that episode.
The person who created this interesting easter egg was the animation director of the Dragon Ball anime at the time, Nishio Daisuke. He is a great admirer of Batman. This episode was shown in Japan in 1989, coinciding with the release of the Batman movie, which was quite popular around the world at that time.
