One Piece’s Live-Action & Anime Luffy And Nami Actors Perform Iconic Scene In Emotional Video

One Piece’s live-action stars Iñaki Godoy and Jacob Romero Gibson perform an iconic scene with the anime’s voice actors in an emotional video.

The stars of Netflix’s live-action One Piece, Iñaki Godoy and Jacob Romero Gibson, performed a classic scene from the East Blue Saga with the anime’s voice actors in an emotional video. The first Saga in the series introduces the original members of the Straw Hat Pirates, including navigator Nami. In the Arlong Park Arc, she finally asks Luffy to help her get rid of the eponymous tyrannical pirate and save her village.

Now, @OP_Netflix_Fan has released a video from Jump Festa 2024 where Godoy and Gibson reenact One Piece‘s “Help Me” scene alongside voice actors from the original anime.

The video highlights Godoy’s Luffy and voice actor Akemi Okamura’s Nami, who revisit the scene. It also shows the live-action One Piece cast members expressing how grateful they are for the opportunity to perform the scene live.

Why One Piece’s Early Stories Are Considered Classics

One Piece‘s East Blue Saga introduces the world of the show while featuring the original Straw Hat Pirates in their own individual story arcs. This allows for audiences to feel a deep connection with Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, and Nami before their adventure truly begins. These storylines also introduce villains connected to each character who eventually become important to the series’ larger story.

Nami’s “Help Me” scene is considered a classic because it cements her as a part of the team, finally letting Luffy and the crew in after shutting them out for so long. It also underscores the themes of the show, with teamwork and perseverance always triumphing over impossible obstacles. The scene also drives the story forward, leading to a memorable battle between most of the crew and the Arlong Pirates.

The performance at Jump Festa also exhibits the anticipation for One Piece season 2, which will continue the story into the Grand Line. This means even more classic scenes are likely on the way, such as Luffy’s promise to Laboon and Chopper’s appearance in the Drum Island Arc. If its popularity continues, then even more classic scenes could find their way onstage in the future.
