Margot Robbie starts the press tour for the upcoming film’s release in style, donning a pink miniskirt and bralette, and exclaims, “The best day ever!”

Margot Robbie showed off her best Barbie look wearing an all-pink ensemble in new photos uploaded onto the movie’s main Instagram page on Saturday in celebration of the press tour kicking off.

The Australian-born star, 32, who recently appeared in a new teaser for Greta Gerwig’s live-action film based on the popular Mattel doll, was seen striking a few poses with a pastel pink convertible parked on a scenic Beverly Hills street.

The blonde beauty put on a leggy display in a light pink, pleated miniskirt and donned a matching bralette top that showed off her toned frame.

She slipped into a pair of open-toed, pink heels and easily slung a pink purse over her right arm for a stylish flare.

The actress’s long blonde locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in elegant curls.

Margot accessorized the fashionable, Barbie-themed ensemble by adding a pair of dainty earrings and threw on a pair of white-rimmed sunglasses for a finishing touch.

The Wolf Of Wall Street star was pictured standing next to the sleek, vintage convertible and struck a pose next to the open car door next to the driver’s side.

She soon plopped herself onto the seat and turned around to rest her hands on the back of the vehicle.

The actress flashed a cheerful smile towards the camera, while a row of palm trees stretched out behind her and lined the crystal clear blue sky in sunny Los Angeles.

In the caption of the post shared on the film’s official Instagram page, it read: ‘It’s the best day ever! The Barbie press tour has officially begun,’ followed by a red heart emoji.

Ahead of the film releasing in theaters next month on July 21, a global press tour will first take place to count down the days until Barbie’s big premiere on the big screen to anticipated fans and viewers.

Margot will make stops in cities such as London, Berlin, as well as Seoul. A special fan event is slated to be held on June 30 in Sydney, where Robbie will also be joined by fellow castmates, Issa Rae and America Ferrera, and also Greta Gerwig.

Gerwig, who is known for directing past films such as Little Women (2019) and Lady Bird (2017), not only took on the role as director of the upcoming fantasy comedy, but also co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach.

Counting down the days: Ahead of the film releasing in theaters next month on July 21, a global press tour will first take place to count down the days until Barbie’s big premiere on the big screen

During an interview with BAFTA earlier in April, per IndieWire, Margot, who is also a producer on the project, admitted that after reading the script, she assumed that the film would not come into fruition.

‘The first time I read the Barbie script, my reaction was, “Ah! This is so good. What a shame it will never see the light of day because they are never going to let us make this movie,”‘ she stated, and then proudly added, ‘But they did.’

The Barbie movie not only stars Margot, but also Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Simu Liu and Dua Lipa. Various versions of both the Barbie and Ken dolls will be portrayed, with actress Helen Mirren narrating the film.

The premise of the movie, which has a budget of $100 million, follows Barbie and Ken as they travel to the real world in order to find the true meaning of happiness.

Filming began last year in 2022 at Warner Bros. Studios in England, while some exterior shots were notably filmed outdoors in Los Angeles.

During an interview with Vogue last month in May, Margot explained that the movie aimed to cater to both fans of the Mattel dolls, but also those that don’t like or even ‘hate’ the dolls.

‘We of course would want to honor the 60-year legacy that this brand has,’ she explained to the outlet. ‘But we have to acknowledge that there are a lot of people who aren’t fans of Barbie.’

‘And in fact, aren’t just indifferent to Barbie. They actively hate Barbie. And have a real issue with Barbie. We need to find a way to acknowledge that,’ the star added.

Working together: Gerwig, who is known for directing past films such as Little Women (2019),  not only took on the role as director of the upcoming fantasy comedy, but also co-wrote the screenplay; the two seen earlier this month in NYC

Taking on the role: She also opened up about the sexualization of Barbie, and how she aimed to portray the character in the film

She also opened up about the sexualization of Barbie, and how she aimed to portray the character in the film. ‘I’m like, “Okay, she’s a doll. She’s a plastic doll. She doesn’t have organs.”‘

‘If she doesn’t have organs, she doesn’t have reproductive organs. If she doesn’t have reproductive organs, would she even feel sexual desire? No, I don’t think she could,’ Robbie further expressed.

‘She is sexualized. But she should never be sexy. People can project sex onto her. Yes, she can wear a short skirt, but because it’s fun and pink. Not because she wanted you to see her butt.’

The live-action Barbie movie is slated to premiere in theaters on July 20 in Australia, and the following day on July 21 in the U.S. and U.K.
