Tyson Fury ‘eager to bag role in potential Peaky Blinders spin-off’ as he eyes up acting career after his Netflix documentary series success

Tyson Fury is reportedly hoping to score a role in a potential Peaky Blinders spin-off as he eyes up a potential acting career.

Packy Lee starred in the hit series as Johnny Dogs, the Traveller cousin of the show lead Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy.

He is hoping to get a spin-off based around his loveable character and has already lined up the heavyweight champion, 35, as a potential cast member.

Packy explained: ‘At the end of the day, there’s options out there in that Peaky Blinders world. There’s talk of a movie, there’s talk of a spin-off and then there’s talk of no movie.

‘It’s been a few years now since we did season six, and I’m just saying “Listen, this was a world that was created by Stephen Knight, and if there was a possibility to show another side of that world from Johnny Dogs’ eyes, I would certainly be up for it”.

He added that Tyson is very keen to be involved in the show, telling the Belfast Telegraph: ‘He has been on to me saying, “Are you serious?” I told him, “You know I am.” He told me, “This would be amazing.”

‘Given his background he’d be the perfect cameo. That’s exactly where I’d be going. [I would be saying] “Have you met my wee brother?” It would be unbelievable.’

Tyson has suggested trying out for an acting career in the past, telling The Ring magazine last year: ‘I’ve done well out of boxing. The world is open to so many things now. I’m doing a Netflix documentary at the moment.

‘Who knows? You might even see me on the silver screen.’

He recently starred in his own Netflix documentary series, At Home With The Furys, which had huge success.

His wife Paris, 34, has also said that she could see her husband going into the acting business and revealed he has had several offers in the past, but struggles with his patience.

In September, she told Fabulous Magazine: ‘It wouldn’t shock me at all [acting]. It would certainly interest him.

‘We’ve had some big proposals put forward for him to go into acting seriously. But he’s done acting in the past and he lasts a few hours before he gets frustrated.

Tyson was even offered a role in the Expendables movies, by legendary actor Sylvester Stallone in 2021

‘I don’t know if he has the Brad Pitt gene. I’d need to teach him to smoulder!’

Tyson was even offered a role in the Expendables movies, by legendary actor Sylvester Stallone in 2021.

After Tyson’s win over Deontay Wilder, the Rocky star, 77, sent the boxer a video message congratulating him and saying: ‘It couldn’t happen to a better guy. I think you have a fantastic career in movies. So, the next Expendables? Done deal!’

Last week, Bloomberg reported that Peaky Blinders may be getting not only one – but two spin-off shows.

The hit show left a hole in the lives of viewers following its sixth and final season in 2022.

The publication reported one of the shows will take place in Boston, 20 years after the original Peaky Blinders, which takes place in the middle of the 20th century.

The other season is said to centre around the matriarch of the Shelby brood, Polly Gray, originally played by the late Helen McCrory.

This comes after leading man, Cillian, addressed rumours of a Peaky Blinders move in July.

Writer and creator of the series Steven Knight had previously spoken out, stating that he had completed a script for a feature film version

The actor, 47, confessed in an interview with Radio Times magazine, that he was going to ‘wait and see’ what happens.

Asked if he had spoke to Steven, Cillian said: ‘That’s probably the worst thing about Peaky Blinders – getting asked about the movie all the time!’

‘I would love to do a movie if there’s more story to tell. I’ll wait and see but I have no update for you on that.’
