YG revealed the “fate” of member Ahyeon (BABYMONSTER), a move that “cut off” BLACKPINK’s solo promotion chain

YG has made the latest moves right on the eve of the new year with two “fighting cocks” BLACKPINK and BABYMONSTER.

As soon as the year 2024 (Korean time) entered, YG posted a video longer than 3 minutes with a sharing from producer Yang Hyun Suk about the upcoming steps of the group  BABYMONSTER . Accordingly, after the debut song BATTER UP, BABYMONSTER is expected to return on February 1, 2024 with a song called STUCK IN THE MIDDLE. Not only that, the group is expected to release a mini album on April 1.

Regarding the case of member Ahyeon, Yang Hyun Suk said: “Ahyeon had to stop practicing for a few months due to health reasons. Because the debut of BABYMONSTER had to be promoted, they were forced to debut on November 27 with 6 members. member. It’s not yet certain when Ahyeon will join so I will notify you at the appropriate time.”

BABYMONSTER’s 6-member lineup is expected to make a comeback on February 1 and release a mini album on April 1.

YG suddenly changed BLACKPINK’s cover image and cover image on all social networking platforms

Also at exactly 0:00 on January 1, 2024, YG changed the profile picture and cover photo of BLACKPINK’s official social network accounts such as Facebook, X or Instagram. Notably, the current avatar is no longer the 4 members but the iconic logo of BLACKPINK. This image was used by YG as a cover photo when BLACKPINK debuted in 2016.

In addition, the official cover photo on BLACKPINK’s accounts was also changed to the image of the 4 girls in the Shutdown MV. This move by YG made many people believe that the company had taken action to “terminate” the promotional images for the members’ solo activities after all 4 girls did not re-sign their individual contracts. Previously, the most recent cover photo on BLACKPINK’s social networking site was a promotional photo for Jennie’s solo project You & Me.
