With a song called Fetish,Β Selena GomezΒ clearly wanted to turn up the π eπ₯ appeal.
And in a behind-the-scenes video posted online Saturday, the 25-year-old singer gave fans an explicit glimpse into the making of the π eπ₯y, yet bizarre clip.
The short featurette shows Selena laying on the ground of a suburban home in which the video takes place in.

The music video for Fetish was released on July 25 and is easilyΒ one of her more disturbing music videos in her 10-year singing career.

In the clip the former Disney star eats soap and glass, writhes around on the floor of a retro kitchen and looks on the brink of a mental breakdown.
The Behaving Badly actress spoke with the video’s director Petra Collins inDazed magazineΒ about why she went for such a twisted image. And in her lengthy Q&A, the pinup admitted she has ‘a lot of insecurities’ and does ‘weird sh**’ all the time.
‘With the way I grew up, I always felt like there was something inside of me that hadnβt been accessed. I hadnβt had the opportunity or confidence to find it. For so long I felt like I (wasnβt able) to do something like this, not because I donβt want to but because I lack that confidence,’ began the girlfriend of The Weeknd.

She added: ‘I have a lot of insecurities, but when I started working with youβ¦ Weβre like sisters, but I think Iβm a little bit older than you.’
Selena then said her favorite scene of the video, set in a suburb, was in the kitchen where she ate soap, lipstick and glass and then lost it.
‘The kitchen scene was so liberating, to lose control of my body and lose sight of myself,’ she said.

As of August 18, the Fetish music video had over 54 million views on YouTube.
Gomez also pointed out that she is not as psychologically off kilter as her Fetish video character, but she’s no princess either.
‘Um, Iβm not saying Iβve ever done something similar to the kitchen scene in real life, but I can say right now, I do weird sh** all the time when Iβm alone in my house,’ said the Hands To Myself hit maker.

‘Itβs how I express myself! Honestly, what you do with women is so inspiring to me. Your pictures can be π eπ₯y, but you arenβt π eπ₯ualizing women. You capture the raw part of it all.’
And Selena said she was happy to work with a female friend of the video.
‘You know what I mean! You make me feel more confident about the choices I make, like a sister. You help me, you encourage me and validate how I feel in that moment. I wouldnβt have been able to grow into the artist I am right now without you. Itβs like this fire-and-water, duality thing going on.’
