As powerful as it is, Shenron must also tremble in fear before the presence of the God of Destruction Beerus. So what is the reason for this fear?
How strong does Shenron know Beerus?
Although Shenron has extensive knowledge, he is not omnipotent. Given Beerus’ reputation and influence in universe 7, it’s likely that Shenron has at least heard of this fearsome God of Destruction. Dende, who has a special connection to Shenron, also recognized Beerus’ ki, suggesting that Shenron may be aware of the God of Destruction’s presence and power.
Why is Shenron afraid of Beerus?
When Shenron met Beerus, the dragon showed great humility and respect, showing his fear. Shenron’s behavior towards Beerus highlights just how powerful and fearsome the god of destruction is.

On the other hand, Shenron and the Dragon Balls are not invulnerable and can be destroyed. If the creator of the Dragon Balls dies, the Dragon Balls will disappear forever. Additionally, Shenron can be killed, as seen in the battle against King Piccolo, which shows that Shenron is not invincible.
Beerus, with his destructive power could easily overcome Shenron in battle and destroy the Dragon Balls and their creator. This puts Shenron in an extremely vulnerable position against the God of Destruction.
Shenron vs Beerus: Who is stronger?
Although Shenron is powerful, its power is limited by the power of its creator. Shenron cannot take the life of someone stronger than the creator of the Dragon Balls. Beerus is much stronger than Kami or Dende, so he is also superior to Shenron in strength. This is proven by the fact that Shenron was once finished off by King Piccolo – a villain much less powerful than Beerus.
Beerus is capable of defeating Goku in his Super Saiyan God form, having demonstrated a level of power that Shenron simply cannot match. Therefore, Shenron knew that it was best to maintain respectful and cautious behavior with Beerus.
