The Kansas City Chiefs are using Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift to get fans hyped for the playoffs.
A new promo video posted on the Chiefs’ Instagram shows a narrator reading from a storybook that details the team’s past Super Bowl wins and — hopefully — future ones.
“The regular season is over and we’ve had a great year / Happy post season, Chiefs kingdom, the playoffs are here / It might not be a holiday but we’ll treat it like like one / Three Super Bowls to our name and the fun’s just begun,” the narrator reads over the Chiefs’ 2023 highlights.
Kelce, 34, then appears on the screen scoring a touchdown as the narrator references one of Swift’s earliest hits..
“Valentine’s Day is jealous of the ‘love story’ we have / Who could ever separate the end zone from Trav?” the narrator reads.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” is featured in a new playoff promo for the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Valentine’s Day is jealous of the ‘love story’ we have / Who could ever separate the end zone from Trav?” the narrator, seen above, reads.
Kelce and the Chiefs will face off against the Dolphins this weekend, and presumably Swift will be in the stands supporting him.
The “Cats” actress previously described “Love Story,” which appeared on her second album “Fearless,” as “the most romantic song I’ve written.”
Both the Chiefs and the NFL have been promoting the tight end’s relationship with the pop star for a couple of months now. In mid-December, the League released a cartoon in which Kelce beaded friendship bracelets as an homage to Swift, 34.
In a promo for the Chiefs’ upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins, the NFL referred to Kelce as “Travis Swift Kelce” as images show Swift celebrating in a VIP suite.
A source told Page Six that the couple will get engaged on their one-year anniversary.
The couple’s romance, which began in July, has taken a more serious turn as of late, with sources telling us Swift and Kelce plan to get engaged this summer.
“Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan,” the insider claimed, adding that the buzz is he’ll pop the question on their one-year anniversary.
They did away with a holiday engagement because they didn’t want people to think it was “rushed,” the source claimed.
The source further explained that the athlete didn’t get down on one knee over the holidays because “they don’t want it to seem like it’s rushed insanity.”
Making her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September, Swift continuously has shown her support for Kelce on the football field.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care…,” she told Time magazine.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
When the time comes, perhaps she’ll register for Le Creuset.
