Oleksandr Usyk in ‘serious sparring’ with 6ft 8ins Serbian giant who has a warning for Tyson Fury

Oleksandr Usyk’s latest sparring partner Sanel Hasanovic is confident that the Ukrainian will beat Tyson Fury.

The two rival heavyweight world champions are set to clash in an undisputed showdown on February 17 in Saudi Arabia, with training camps well underway at this stage in preparations.

Indeed, with just over a month to go until the fight, both men are sparring to get ready.

However, recruiting boxers to replicate one another is a near-impossible task due to their unique styles and elite ability.

Fury is known to have brought in Moses Itauma and Jai Opetaia to help him try to mirror Usyk in his camp.

Meanwhile Usyk has now been shown to be sparring with Sanel Hasanovic.

The 25-year-old 6ft 8½ins Serbian giant is 7-1-1 (6 KOs) as a pro boxer.

While he may not have the required experience and technical ability to match Fury, he is similar in size and profile, given that the Gypsy King is listed at 6ft 9ins.

Hasanovic posted: “@Usykaa, after some serious sparring, I believe you will emerge victorious in the fight against Tyson Fury!

“Also, thanks to my team @KUCBoxingPromotion for the support and promotion!”

Boxing trainer Don Charles is no stranger to Usyk’s silky skills having coached two fighters in the opposite corner to the Ukrainian.

He worked with Derek Chisora for his clash with the unbeaten 36-year-old in 2020, which ‘Del Boy’ lost by unanimous decision despite putting up a valiant effort.

And most recently, in August last year, Charles trained Daniel Dubois for his defeat to the Ukrainian.

“This Fury who has gone silent, I believe he’s gone silent, he’s gone away to train, he’s taking it seriously,” Charles told talkSPORT.

“Forgive me if I get this wrong, but I don’t even think it will be a hard fight for Fury.

“He’ll maul him, he’s too big for Usyk, he’ll maul him, hit him, tie him up, push him off, he’ll maul him.”
