Lady Gaga shares glimpse of glam rehearsal of Hold Me Tight in Oscars dress… before she stripped off make-up for raw performance on stage

After walking the red carpet in a glam gown and a full face of makeup, many fans were stunned to see Lady Gaga change out of her outfit and go makeup free for the surprise performance of her song Hold My Hand at the 95th Academy Awards last Sunday.

Now, just four days removed from the emotional presentation of the Oscar-nominated tune off the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, the songstress has shared a video of her Oscar rehearsal, where she’s still in full glam, on her TikTok page.

Sitting in front of piano in a small room with a view of the streets of Los Angeles outside a window in the backdrop, Gaga delivered an emotional version of the song, despite there being no audience, with the exception of the person shooting the clip.

And like she did while strolling along the red carpet, the New York native was decked out in an elegant black sheer gown with her blonde tresses pulled back off her face in a french braid.

‘Hold my hand, everything will be okay – I heard from the heavens that clouds have been grey,’ she sang off the top of the clip that came in just under a minute and a half long.

Glammed up and emotional: Lady Gaga, 36, took to her TikTok page on Thursday and shared a video of her pre-Oscar rehearsal of her Academy Award-nominated song Hold My Hand, which she performed while still wearing her Versace gown and full makeup

Gaga (born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), who never moved from her position in front of the piano, continued with the next line of the track.

‘Pull me close, wrap me in your aching arms -I see that you’re hurtin’, why’d you take so long – To tell me you need me? I see that you’re bleeding – You don’t need to show me again -But if you decide to, I’ll ride in this life with you – I won’t let go ’til the end.’

She wrapped up the clip with the lines: ‘So cry tonight – But don’t you let go of my hand- You can cry every last tear – I won’t leave ’til I understand – Promise me, just hold my hand.’

Taking to TikTok, the Oscar-winning singer described the video as ‘the rehearsal no one saw’ in the caption.

She added, ‘Love you all, thanks for being so supportive of a song that means so much to me.’

The Oscar rehearsal in her Versace gown and full makeup was a far contrast from what she looked like when she hit the stage for her performance during the ceremony.

Opting for a stripped back look, Gaga shed all her makeup, with the help of her makeup artist, and replaced her dress with a simple ensemble consisting of black jeans with rips in the knees and a matching t-shirt and sneakers.

The Shallow star did decide to continue to keep her blonde locks pulled back off her face with a french braid.

Despite her jaw-dropping vocal performance, fans seemed to focus mainly on the lack of makeup and how fresh and clean her face looked.

Practice time: The singer-songwriter could be seen sitting at a piano in a small room with a view of the streets of Los Angeles outside a window in the backdrop

Passionate: ‘Hold my hand, everything will be okay – I heard from the heavens that clouds have been grey,’ she sang off the top of the clip that came in just under a minute and a half long

Heart-wrenching: ‘Pull me close, wrap me in your aching arms -I see that you’re hurtin’, why’d you take so long – To tell me you need me? I see that you’re bleeding – You don’t need to show me again -But if you decide to, I’ll ride in this life with you – I won’t let go ’til the end,’ she sang

Message from Gaga: ‘The rehearsal no one saw. Love you all, thanks for being so supportive of a song that means so much to me,’ she wrote in the caption of the clip

In the end, Gaga did not take home the golden statue for Best Original Song at the 2023 Oscars.

Composed by M. M. Keeravani with lyrics by Chandrabose, the honor went to the song Naatu Naatu, which was recorded by Chandrabose and Kaala Bhairava for the soundtrack album RRR (2022).

Gaga had previously won the Best Original Song Oscar for her song Shallow (2019), which was the lead single from the soundtrack to the acclaimed film remake of A Star Is Born (2019).

Three years earlier, she also was nominated for Best Original Song for Til It Happens to You (2016), from the documentary The Hunting Ground (2015).

The Born This Way star was also nominated for Best Actress for her role in A Star Is Born, which co-starred Bradley Cooper, who also served as the director.

Glam look: The Oscar-winning singer arrived to the 2023 Oscars and proceeded to strut her stuff on the red carpet in her black sheer Gown from Versace and full makeup

Stripped down: Later, during the Oscar’s ceremony, the songstress stripped back her look by wearing black jeans with rips in the knees, a matching t-shirt and sneakers and no makeup

Gaga’s song Hold My Hand, which she co-wrote and co-produced with BloodPop (born Michael Tucker), did not win the Oscar for Best Original Song; the honor went to the track Naatu Naatu, which was recorded by Chandrabose and Kaala Bhairava from a composition by M. M. Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose
