She debuted a new tattoo positioned on her thigh before taking the stage at the American Music Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

And Selena Gomez’s ink seemed to resemble a similar piece tattooed on her ex Justin Bieber’s ankle.

The 27-year-old songstress revealed the new permanent marking on Instagram and later showed off the work while performing at the show dedicated to the best music of the year.

Selena’s black-and-white tattoo depicted two hands clasped in prayer with a delicate beaded rosary hanging around the wrists and down her leg.

Her ex has an incredibly similar pair of hands intertwined in prayer tattooed just above his left ankle.

The pair broke up last year after an on-and-off relationship which began in September 2010.

He moved on into the arms of Hailey Baldwin shortly after their split in 2018, and later put a ring on her finger with a courthouse wedding in New York that fall.

Despite rumors her new song, Lose You to Love Me, is about her ex, there appears to be little ill-will between Selena and Hailey after the new Mrs. Bieber ‘liked’ a photo of Selena posted by her makeup artist Hung Vanngo.

And Gomez had a lot more on her mind before her first appearance at the AMAs since 2017 and her first live TV performance in two years as sources reported she had a ‘panic attack’ before taking the stage.

‘Selena definitely had anxiety and a panic attack before she went out and was putting a lot of pressure on herself,’ an insider told E! News.

She stood still at the microphone and let her song carry the room before breaking into a high-energy rendition of her other new single, Look At Her Now.

Gomez stunned in a Versace mini dress before wowing the crowd with a performance of her two new singles.

Some viewers criticized the Spring Breakers star on social media for what they perceived to be a morose and lackluster show opener with the leisurely paced ballad.

Other criticized her singing and suggested she might not have been ready for her returning to the stage after two years away.

Selena’s loyal fans also chimed in and defended the hiccups as an understandable case of nerves.

Selena’s bff Taylor Swift didn’t seem to have any problem with the performance as she sang along and danced to Look At Her Now from the audience, as did a similarly impressed Halsey.
