Liam Payne has shared a snippet of a new song and fans are having quite the reaction.
The 30-year-old musician carved out a solo career since boy band phenomenon One Direction went on hiatus a whopping eight years ago.
While he’s had some success with tracks like Strip That Down, his time in 1D currently eclipses his solo achievements – but that might be about to change as fans are losing their minds over a short clip from his new song.
The father of one, who shares son Bear with ex Cheryl Tweedy, uploaded a black-and-white video to Instagram of himself belting out a heartfelt track in the studio.
‘Teardrops are falling down your face again because I don’t know how to love you and I am broken too,’ Liam sings with his face twisted in emotion.
He wrote in the caption that the song was ‘born from many [teardrops] some mine some not.’

The song has already had a huge effect on some listeners, who flocked to the comments to share their thoughts, with user Surreal_sara declaring his music ‘heals my wounds.’
Togetherorapart28 announced the track ‘is what heaven sounds like,’ and Nise_ziam said Liam is ‘officially going to kill me, already crying.
‘I can’t wait omg your voice is ethereal,’ Gi_fflorencio wrote, and mimi_montes75 declared they have to ‘protect this precious angel at all costs.’

The upcoming track will be Liam’s first solo offering in a while, with his album LP1 released in 2019, and his most recent single, Sunshine, released in 2021.
It’s a positive update for the musician, who in recent months has been plagued by ill health, as well as speaking up about his mental health struggles and alcohol addiction.
In September last year, Liam was rushed to hospital after falling ill while on holiday in Italy, just weeks after he was treated for a serious kidney infection and forced to cancel his tour.

In an email update to fans late in 2023, he teased some big things coming, writing ‘there’s so much I can’t talk about right now that’s coming up but you’ll all find out soon enough.’
Liam’s update came a few weeks after it was reported he had been shooting a new music video in Ireland ahead of his planned 2024 comeback.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: ‘Liam flew to Ireland in October to film the video, but while fans saw him out and about he managed to keep the shoot under wraps.
‘Initially, the release was for the end of 2023 but with Liam being admitted to hospital in September the timeline has been pushed back.’
‘He’s now doing great and the plan is to drop the comeback single in the first few months of 2024. After a lot of searching, he’s finally found his sound.’
