Celebrating Ronaldo’s 39th: His Sister Shares Throwback Snaps with an Emotionally Charged Tribute.

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s sister has given a glimpse of their close bond in a series of throwback snaps to celebrate his 39th birthday.

Singer Katia Aveiro, 46, from Madeira, took to Instagram to share the tribute to her sibling, saying that he’s the ‘the idol of so many’ and gushed that his life resembles a ‘movie.’

Sharing throwback snaps, she posed up a storm throughout the years with her younger brother.

The post read: ‘The story of your life is already a movie, a real life movie. Who would have thought?’

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro, shares throwback snaps in gushing post to celebrate his 39th birthday, including a 2006 photo taken while her brother was playing for Manchester United

She said that despite the ‘joys and sorrows, victories and losses that will mark us forever’, having her brother by her side ‘makes everything less difficult’.

‘You were destined to come and make a difference in the lives of so many,’ she added. Celebrating your birthday is a blessing and a joy. Thanking God for your life and health.’

She continued: ‘Who would have thought that the boy who was born there in that Quinta do Falcão neighborhood in a parish of Santo António on the island of Madeira would inspire a nation. How proud to be part of your story, today you are here with so much to tell!!

’39 years later, our boy has a birthday… The father, the son, the brother, the friend, the uncle and the idol of so many.

‘God has always been the commander of your path and your route. Congratulations brother!

‘More health, more wisdom more years and more achievement is what I wish for you.’

The proud sister gushed over her brother saying she hopes he continues to be an ‘enlightened human being that illuminates our lives.’

It comes after she continued a staunch defence of her younger brother by co-signing a social media post that appeared to take a swipe at Lionel Messi after his Ballon d’Or win last year.

The Argentine took home a record-extending eighth trophy at a ceremony in Paris after starring for his national team as they won the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The triumph saw Messi go three clear of his old rival, who won the last of his five Ballon d’Or awards in 2017. While many lauded the 36-year-old for the unprecedented feat, others claimed the prize was little more than a lifetime achievement award.

Katia appeared to agree with the latter as she commented on a social media post praising the exploits of the Portuguese great shortly after the ceremony.

The post on X, formerly Twitter, showed the 38-year-old surrounded by his raft of personal honours including three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year awards, four European Golden Shoes and five Ballon d’Ors.

The image was accompanied by the caption: ‘Earned, not given.’ In an apparent dig at the former Barcelona star who has claimed at least two somewhat contentious prizes in recent years.

Aveiro liked the post and commented with five clapping emojis – potentially in a nod to her brother’s own tally or just to emphasise the degree to which she supported the message.

It’s not the first time Portuguese pop singer has waded into modern football’s eternal debate. Last year, she labelled the World Cup as ‘the worst ever’ in a dramatic post on social media.

She wrote: ‘The worst World Cup of all time,’ before eventually praising the victorious South America side by adding: ‘That thankfully gave us a great final. What a match. Congratulations to Argentina.’

Aveiro had earlier urged Ronaldo him to leave the World Cup and come home to a place where he has ‘all the gratitude and not ingratitude’ following his demotion to Portugal’s bench during the tournament.
