When Meagan Hanley, founder of A Place for Ace Rescue in Massachusetts, first saw a photo of Kleo, she immediately knew she had to do something for her before it was too late. Kleo was on the death list at a shelter in San Antonio, Texas, and Meagan decided to take her quickly. Kleo was adopted and brought back, Meagan worried that she wouldn’t be adopted again before she was put to sleep. This dog has a physical trait that could affect your adoption. The Kleo has a slightly sloping face and a distinctly different lower body than most dogs.
There was something special about Kleo that made Meagan mobilize everyone to find her. She is currently in a foster home in Boston, where she is very happy. She really loves life, and after everything she has been through, the changes do not affect her. Brianne Miers, her adoptive mother, never ceases to marvel at her genius.
“Kleo makes the most of every day. She really has a zest for life. When she opened the door of the house in the morning, it was as if she had been shot from a cannon. She is a ball of energy and she loves to come and go. She is curious about all the new sights and smells around her and she is very smart,” says Brianne. Brianne had had many dogs before Kleo, but none were like her. Kleo didn’t realize that he was anything different from the rest of the furries, but people noticed him and that influenced his adoption of her. She “snorts a little when she is agitated and by biting she can get a little messy when she drinks water or eats a crunchy snack. Otherwise, she is a normal, happy and healthy dog. Fortunately, she doesn’t know that she is different from any other dog. I saw people staring at her as we passed, but she was happy to follow her lead,” Brianne added.
Kleo is a very special dog. He will do best in a family with only older children and is very excitable when he lives with cats. She is looking for a family with an active lifestyle and would make a great jogging or walking companion.
She is very intelligent and definitely needs to be entertained at home with toys, puzzles, bones or another dog to play with. “Kleo was put on the adoption list along with 20 other dogs and they all found families pretty quickly. Unfortunately, she has not received any serious attention.”
Briana added. all Kleo is looking for is love and acceptance. It’s hard to see all the other dogs adopted before Kleo, but still, his adoptive family knows the right family will come along eventually. As long as Kleo is not adopted, she will continue to explore and enjoy life in her foster home. everyone is very willing to help her and take care of her until a family gives her a loving forever home. Please share Kleo’s story to help her find a home where she can live happily ever after.
